I have been here in the past and loved it. I had the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant here today. The service was bad and slow, items were missed constantly and seemed as if the staff didn’t know how to work the technology. We were patient and kind, but ended up needing to grab our own take out containers to make a bit of a point that we were ready to go after multiple failed attempts calling staff over for assistance. We thought, well at least the food will be good. I unfortunately had the sesame chicken and it was inedible. I have had some bad Chinese in my day, but this was the worst. Everything tasted “off”. I brought my Grandmother and her sister, mom and my aunt and was embarrassed that I chose to bring them here today.

Found there was lots of black pepper used during cooking. The chicken and mushroom dish was covered in black pepper...too much for my whole family liking. If you like lots of black pepper this dish is for you. Half of the sweet and sour chicken balls tasted a little off, we didn't finish them. This was the first time at this restaurant but will not go back. I want to add that the servers were very friendly and food was done quickly.

As I walked in there was a funny smell to the place but I stayed and ordered the chicken middle soup and the fried wontons. The chicken noodle soup had a very weird taste to it aswell as there being no seasoning on the chicken or in the broth, it was very bland. She a picture of the fried wontons and high looked good it the picture but when I got them they looked completely different and were like horrible greasy chips alongside a very mediocre sauce. Overall the staff was nice but the food was horrible and overpriced for what we got

I had a great day at work and got a little promotion, so I wanted to treat myself. The Beef with Mushrooms felt like the perfect celebration meal—hearty and satisfying. Every bite was a little victory lap. It was a perfect, low-key way to celebrate.

I was in a rush to get back to the office, and this place was a lifesaver. I grabbed the Sautéed Mixed Vegetables, and they came out in a flash. The veggies were fresh and the portion was big. It was a quick and healthy meal that got me through the afternoon.

Been in Canada for a while, and sometimes I just miss home cooking. The Beef with Chinese Greens here is exactly what I needed. It tasted just like the simple stir-fry my mom used to make. It felt so comforting and brought back so many good memories.

My friend swore I had to try the Beef with Ginger—I was a little hesitant about the ginger flavour, but wow. It was fresh and zesty, not overpowering at all. The beef was tender, and the whole dish was surprisingly light. I’m so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone!

As a bit of a food snob, I’m picky about my black bean sauce. This place’s Beef with Peppers in Black Bean Sauce totally won me over. The sauce was rich and not too salty, and the beef was cooked to perfection. It’s definitely the most authentic I’ve had in a while.

Trying to eat healthier, so I was happy to see some good veggie options. The Sautéed Broccoli was perfectly cooked—crisp and not greasy at all. My friend’s Beef with Snow Pea Pods looked delicious, too. It’s so nice to find a place that can do both delicious and healthy meals.

Disappointing. We were at Zehrs and stopped here to get some food. Getting home and trying it, the rice tasted burnt. Maybe they used old oil or over used oil and it needs to be changed. First time I visited this restaurant.

We have been going to Kam Yin Restaurant for many years. As a family of 15 we celebrated Canada Day for a meal. It did not disappoint. The food, service and price, qualify as being excellent. I strongly recommend Kam Yin Restaurant for family reunions.

Got a combonation meal for one and bit into a chicken ball that smelt of rot and maggots. Putrid.

As a loyal customer going back to 1995 I've given up on this restaurant.
