Meltwich Food Co. Waterloo is a fast casual restaurant specializing in grilled cheese, burgers and fries.
The chicken fingers, burger and poutine were good tasting.
Service was a bit slow and distracted for being the only customer.

!!!! Best Owner!
I visited here on 11th July between 3 to 4pm. I had very bad experience with one guy. Multiple times me and my friends experienced the same. He was rude and doesn't know how to interact with the customers. He is telling that he is the owner of the restaurant and yelling at me. very bad and immatured behavior.. he is using some shitty words too.

I’ve lived in this town for 6 years, and I’ve never had an experience as disappointing as this one.
I was out recently with my younger brother
just 5 years old, when he suddenly needed to use the washroom urgently. The nearest place we found was Meltwich, so we quickly stepped in and politely asked to use the restroom. A staff member (possibly a manager, wearing glasses) responded coldly, saying the washroom is only for paying customers.
While I understand that policies exist due to issues with misuse by some individuals, this wasn’t one of those cases. We weren’t asking for favors. This was a child in genuine need. Denying a 5-year-old access to a washroom in an emergency situation is not just bad customer service. It shows a complete lack of basic human compassion.
In all my years here, I’ve never felt so disrespected or disappointed by a restaurant’s behavior. Meltwich, and specifically the person we dealt with, failed not only in hospitality but in humanity. It’s clear that some people should not be working in a customer-facing role if they lack empathy for a child.
This experience was unacceptable and I will be sharing this publicly across platforms. Businesses need to be reminded that policies should never come before basic decency.

I’ve been coming to this location for the past six years and have always loved the food. Unfortunately, on Mother’s Day weekend, we arrived right at 12:00 PM—as stated on your website and storefront—only to find the location still closed. We had planned to pick up food for my family’s Mother’s Day celebration and had to scramble to make other arrangements because of the unexpected closure.
I completely understand that early afternoons may not be your busiest time, but when your online and posted hours state a specific opening time, customers expect the doors to be open then.
I hope this feedback is helpful, as I’d love to continue supporting this location in the future.

Good but never received the milkshake ordered through Uber. The driver said it's happened before at this location.
Absolutely delicious!!
Thraun was amazing! Super friendly, fast, and made sure everything was perfect with my order. He went above and beyond — easily the best service I’ve ever had at a fast food place. Give this guy a raise!
