My husband and I have dined at Red House before, so were looking forward to returning. Sadly, it was not the same experience as we previously have had. Service that night was unusually slow, with it taking quite a while to place drink & appetizer orders. Our apps came out before we received our drinks.Food wise, we decided to try the monthly fixed three course menu (Mexican inspired). The tortillas & tostales were quite tasty, however the nopales salad was very pickled in flavor with large pieces of pickled onion that overshadowed any other flavors in the bowl. For our entree we both decided on the snapper. Our fish was sadly overcooked, and arrived piled high with greens (arugula). Under the snapper was a massive portion of re-fried beans which, when combined with the soft nature of the snapper ended up being quite an unpleasant mouthful texture wise. There was no spice, flavour or even seasoning to the dish and I left half of it un-eaten.Desert didn't improve our experience with the chocolate flan cake arriving dry and with little chocolate flavor at all.Good parts? We were seated in the little sun room area to the front of the restaurant which had a lovely ambiance with twinkle lights and lots of plants. Serving staff was polite and cheerful, and aside from the initial delay in ordering and receiving our drinks, the rest of the service was timely. All in all, we were disappointed in our experience with the food this time, having previously have loved it there. Perhaps sticking to the regular menu versus venturing off is what we will do if we decide to visit again.

Overall a nice experience enjoy with a date. Food was amazing maybe a bit overpriced. The atmosphere was a cute home style restaurant, however there were many noisy tables! This however ruined our experience

It was tasty food, although perhaps a bit overpriced for the meals. There were some noisy tables so it was very noisy. Good spot to bring a date as it is a very intimate atmosphere. Overall it was great and would definitely go back. Service was fantastic.Parking: Lots if parking 1/2 block away. No parking at the restaurant.

Wow!Each dish was beautifully plated and the flavours were so perfect! Way to go chefs.Desserts elevated our dining experience to a new level as do the servers in attending to your needs .This was an exceptional place to celebrate our 35th anniversary and we definitely will be returning.

It's been over a week now and I'm still thinking about the crème brûlée french toast I had while I was here.

Great experience. When I reserved online I could put in information about my allergies. Tyler was a great waiter who was very knowledgeable about gluten free food. I had the calamari (not pictured), salmon, and chocolate cake. Tasted excellent and plated well. Dessert was a very tiny portion even though I asked for a large. Atmosphere was a bit cramped and loud on a Saturday. Overall very enjoyable and would highly recommend the salmon as it was perfectly cooked.

A nice upscale restaurant with local fresh food focus. I had the steak with brussel sprouts and fingerling potatoes. The steak was good and reasonably priced. The potatoes were excellent. The spouts were very fresh but a bit undercooked. For dessert i had the deconstructed lemon merrengue pie. The curd was wonderful but the ratios of the elements were off and it would have been much better constructed properly.Parking: No parking at restaurant. Parking nearby at Waterloo Town Centre.

We went in, read the menu and left. They had “Israeli couscous” on the menu. This is a Palestinian dish and cultural appropriation . It is called “maftool” and has been part of Palestine forever. Will never dine there.

My steak was really good. My wife thought the mushroom risotto could have been tastier. It was a really nice dining experience.

Tried calling to make a reservation, in my own home, quiet environment with phone to my ear. I start talking and the hostess immediately begins shouting over me mid sentence proclaiming she can't hear me.Learn some manners, absolutely pathetic customer service. Typical in 2023.
