Sandy's Kitchen Chinese Cuisine

We used to buy from there regularly. Best around. Under new ownership now and food is nowhere near good Chinese food. Bland, no flavour and took an hour for Fried Rice, low mein and lemon chicken. The wait was far too long, food was sub par and still had to pay original Sandy’s prices. Really disappointed.

Today….Aug 20 th got a take out! The place is now under new management, it is not even anywhere close to the previous owner….first they don’t answer the phone, expect you to keep calling back, secondly they were cooking my order when I got there, I live right across the street, my food was only warm not HOT as we are used to getting…..Sorry but this is the last order I will be placing.

Changed ownership. Indian cooks now. Food is NOT the same as before.

What a disappointment! The ownership has changed and the food is not what it was like! We used to love picking up food from here every other week. Sadly this was the last time!
The noodles were burnt. The kung pao was God knows what.

What a dissappintment. I didn't know that Sandy retired and sold the restaurant. Not even close of what it used to be. Really bad food. It can't be eaten. I would not come back to this place.
The worse is that keep the same name, the same menu, etc. But the food is terrible. Horrible!

Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday. Not very busy. Had lunch special Singapore vermicelli. Food was hot, flavourful and large portion. Server was nice. Would recommend.

I have been going to the original owners restaurant for years totally delicious.

We gave the new owners a good time to settle in with the menu, but they are turning out food that is un eatable what a shame.

Keep away from this place terrible.

Sandy's Kitchen was one of the very few remaining Cantonese style restaurants in KW where the 干炒牛河 was my go to. The ownership is now changed it's a completely different restaurant. Do don't go off of any of the positive reviews from about a month ago it's not the same restaurant.

We use to enjoy Sandy's Kitchen when it was old owners. The dinner was cold, over cooked and not a good taste.

Went to get Chinese food here as I normally would because it was the best place in town. Now this is by far the worst Chinese food place in Waterloo now. I was shocked to see all new workers there and was worried right away. Come to find out it’s under new ownership. Rice is overcooked, general Tso’s chicken has no flavour at all, basically every dish we ordered was not the same. If this place survives and stays in business I’ll be surprised because the new owners are not living up to what this place was.

Edit; Returning food to restaurant because the quality of the dishes is terrible. Beef is also undercooked and has a weird fish smell/taste. Never going back to this place ever again. Any 5 star review that’s recent is absolutely fake and not realistic, made by employees or friends of the new owners. There’s no way any food can be good from this place. Just avoid this place. It needs to be rebranded so it doesn’t continue to insult the previous owners.

Ordered beef but got pork. Noodles were dried out and crispy in spots. Chicken stir fry rice had a smoky flavour and tasted like it had been cooked in the same pot as some shrimp or fish. Time to move on and find a new Chinese spot.
