I need to go back and eat my way through the menu. Firstly, the food was fantastic. I was specifically on the hunt for Taiwanese fried chicken and was excited to find that it was spot on.
The gentleman who served us was so lovely and brought us tea to enjoy while we were waiting š»
And as for the atmosphere, the decor was a little dated and worn (Like a great restaurant should be š) but absolutely clean and inviting.
In short, fantastic food, over and above service, great atmosphere and really reasonable price! Seriously, I can't wait to go back.
The owner is so friendly and always saying āThank you my brotherā. The portion and taste is quite good, if you are not very hungry then you may feel quite full after having a regular rice meal.
Owner is incredibly nice, and rice combos are awesome. My go to spot for comfort food at Waterloo
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The man at the front was so kind and while I was waiting for my food I went out for a smoke and he came out to give it to me himself. I ordered 17b, the dumpling braised beef soup and it was the most exquisite thing to ever grace my mouth. I canāt even explain how perfect it was! I have never had better soup in my life. And I couldnāt believe the quality and portion size for the amount I was paying. I will definitely be going again.
I frequented this place throughout university and still feel the need to come back for more years after graduation. Nothing feels more like eating a comforting home cooked meal than the food here. The owner is also so warm and friendly, the wait for food is never long and the taste never disappoints! The place isnāt fancy but if you want a no fuss authentic taiwanese meal, this is definitely the spot! Portions are large, tea is free, everything on the menu is delicious. My go to meal is the 11b spiced chicken with white meat combo. It comes with a rotating mix of 2 side dishes and a tea egg. Never disappoints!
Is this place open? Weāve tried to go there and called a few times but theyāre always closed during reasonable times (4-6pm)
Food tasted like it was cooked by an infant monkey. The cabbage was bland, as if they had only boiled it before serving. Chicken was super dry too. Bad experience.
Very slow service, waited 35 minutes to get my meal when there werenāt even many customers. Very dirty environment

Ordered the braised beef noodle soup that was mostly noodle and very little beef and soup. Beef was very tough and soup was bland. Thereās was no a/c when I was there on a hot day.

Overall, decent gua bao and popcorn chicken combo. However, the price is a bit expensive.

The people here are really kind. I love the atmosphere of this place because itās like sitting inside a restaurant in Kerala. I had the wonton soup and didnāt like it very much. The broth was okay and the wontons were not good. The stuffing of the wonton is what I didnāt like.
