Changed from unique coffee cups to really tiny white mugs..coffee not as good..used to be good place air conditioning too cold where fans were and service took a long time. May only come for takeout restaurants need more care for customers because people can't afford to eat out anymore so when they do they want it to be a good affordable one and you want them to keep coming back.

Just wondering if anyone would place their order with the waitress she took our order after being seated for ten minutes. Which we both found to be comfortable time. With only two other tables occupied. Only ten customers seated before us. Then, she brought the drinks to the table. After that costumers came in sat . She took their orders. We still had not received our food. This was now going on 30 minutes, still no food . People would came in after us had eaten and paid before leaving. I inquired about our order. Now , 45 minutes later. We decided at that point to give the waitress another few minutes. Now 60 minutes, still no food on our table. More customers finished eating before we got anything. We decided it was time to just walk out. We think 60 minutes or more to wait on our order was ridiculously to long. I do not recommend this restaurant unless you have all day to wait. We will not be back to try again. Once was enough.Would you have walked out?Parking: Not wheelchair accessible

This was our first visit to the Hemlock Barn and it will also be our last!We came as a party of eight for brunch on a Sunday morning. Despite us being the first & only ones there (save for another couple), it was nearly an hour between the time our orders were taken to when we started receiving them... Not good especially when you have hungry toddlers with you!Our poached eggs were undercooked... very runny & full of water/vinegar. The meat on most of our plates was dry & overcooked. The rye toast we all got was very old & tasted as such. The ketchup provided was fermented and it exploded over 3 of our plates on the table when the bottle was opened. One plate in particular was so badly covered, we requested a replacement plate. All they did was wipe as much of the bad ketchup they could off that same plate and returned it to us... Very disgusting and not very hygienic or healthy! In fact, we ended up paying our tab & left our meals half-finished because they were so awful. Plus, we just couldn't wait to just get out of there. Absolutely LOTS of room for improvement at that joint!

Food was decent for the smash burger experience. The service was painfully slow, tables weren’t clean, and the staff all seemed more focused on the POS system rather than the people that were walking back out the door.Ranked the atmosphere low as there was no music and there was a horrible smell in the bathroom hallway.Kid-friendliness: Good for kids. kids menu was standard fareWheelchair accessibility: Not remotely an option.

Very disappointing. All the negative reviews here are accurate. Poor service, greasy-salty food, and staff who are stoned out of their minds. Workers should not come to work under any influence. Restaurants are built upon food and service and not their decor (which seems to be the most important factor - teen "I hate my father" angst). Restrooms had not been cleaned either. Not worth the trip.

The parking lot was empty, so no problem finding a spot. We were there for wing night - they were out of wings. There were a few other items missing from the menu. There was one waitress for the entire place, running, couldn't keep up. Buddy's burger fell apart as soon as he picked it up, a disgusting mess of soaking wet lettuce / onion. My burger was tasty. The fries were tasty.I probably won't return.

The chicken chunks were 9 little pieces at the price of 13.50The Mac&cheese was half full, and the size of a fist. At the cost of 9 dollars each.

Came here with my daughter for lunch on a Sunday. Sat outside and ordered food (part of the order was wings). After about 30 minutes or so of waiting, asked the waitress where our food was and she said "oh we are out of wings, would you like to choose something else?". This was super frustrating to hear 30 minutes after ordering instead of right away, having to convince a hungry kid to choose something else. We got the menu again and chose an alternate dish. After a few more minutes of waiting the waitress didn't come out again to take our order, so we had to go inside to order. The people beside us got their food, but didn't get cutlery and had to wait over 10 minutes for the cutlery while their food was getting cold. When we got the food it was ok, but nothing to write home about. On the plus side, the prices are very reasonable. Unfortunately this is one case where it seems you pay what you get for.

Supreme fries seem great on the menu but opening to find only cheese that looks half curdled and only tomato on top is pretty disappointing. Had breakfast many times and it's great. Maybe stick to breakfast from now on.

Atmosphere could be better but I can't stretch to 4/5. While we have visited several times and had good food, when you enter and see several tables uncleared, it indicates service might be slow and it looks unkempt. I hope they can do more to improve service because there is a lot of promise here.

We chose a strange day to go to try The Hemlock Barn. The day after July 1st 2023. We were the only ones eating in this huge room.Food was ok after 40 minute wait. Our wait staff was a very friendly and pleasant young woman. My main comment is that this location needs a thorough CLEAN. The glass in the door was very dirty and all the windows as well. Everything seemed sticky.Should be made to shine! The washroom down in a dark damp basement. Two big guys in black t-shirts and jeans wandered around this big room all the time we were there as though no customers where in the place. Just odd.

I cannot vouch for the food, as we never got served. We were told to seat ourselves so we sat down, were given the menus after a few minutes, she took our drinks order, then she stood at the counter, taking food orders from a steady stream of people coming in to order who were going to either sit at the outside tables or who wanted takeout, but who ALL came in AFTER us!We waited for about 30 minutes, never got our drinks and never had our food order taken. 1 person to take orders and serve the entire restaurant? We left.I felt bad for the poor woman working on her own, but would have thought that at some point she would have told the people "wait 1 minute, I need to go take the order from the people at the tables who were here before you". Very disappointed. We heard the food was good. Sadly we will never find out.

I've been wanting to try this place since the time they moved away from Hemlock Street, where I lived pre-pandemic times and used to be there every week for their smashed banquet burger and everything burger (Ofcourse with an extra patty ?).Must say, same great taste with an even bigger menu and delicious appetizers, salads. Nice service and great vibe!P.S. Do not forget to try their ice-cream flavour 'Granny's Cupboard'.

Came here on Sunday for brunch and was pretty let down. Upon seating, the rear back door was left open so it was freezing. Once our food came out the mac and cheese was bland and cold. Our hamburger buns were cold and the patty was super thin and greasy. Lastly the French fries were overcooked to the point there they were inedible. Out server was nice and attentive so that's a plus.
