As a Celiac, finding a safe place to eat where gluten is handled alongside regular foods is nearly impossible, but the team at Wendy’s in Waterloo by Conestoga Mall is absolutely amazing!
Although my husband is usually the one picking up our food, I can always trust that my meal will be handled with the utmost care. At home, I toast my own gluten-free bun, but at Wendy’s, they take my allergy seriously. The staff ensures my order is prepared safely, notifying everyone in the kitchen and often assigning one person to handle my food. Their attention to detail and precautionary measures give me peace of mind every time.
My go-to favorites are the bunless burger, chili, nachos with cheese, and the baked potato—and sometimes all of the above! Not only is the food delicious, but the staff are also friendly, welcoming, and never make you feel like a burden for needing extra care.
This location has truly set the bar for accommodating Celiacs, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to others in the gluten-free community. Wendy’s by Conestoga Mall is a rare gem, and they’ve earned my trust and loyalty!

I got a burger that was raw in the middle, diet coke couldn't drink it was as if they had freezer burnt ice sitting in it. It was disgusting. The lady pretty much threw the bag at me. Not going here after this experience

As far as getting good food for cheap in Waterloo goes, it's hard to beat Wendy's. Its daily menu is better value than anywhere else unless there is a promotion in that someplace else, and when Wendy's has an offer, it probably ends up being the best deal period.
I've seen other reviews complaining about food quality - I must say I've not experienced an issue so far. Wendy's to me has felt consistently higher quality than its more expensive competitors.
If you're looking to get a good deal, what NOT to do is to walk in through the front door, and order a Dave's Single Combo. Instead, download the app, and order: A 2 for $4 (if it's breakfast) One of the $2.49/$3.49 burgers, and ideally add an offer (if it's not breakfast)
1 star rating for the atmosphere because twice when I'm came to this location (I park RIGHT outside the store), somewhere between my car and the counter, I get approached by the type of stranger I'd rather not get approached by.

As far as fast food chains go, Wendy's is one of my favorites. However, I've noticed that the service and cleanliness/condition of the locations are hit and miss. I've never had any issues with the food. Either I'm lucky or they are consistent? I had their breakfast for the first time. I must say I was quite pleased with it. I ordered a sausage/egg/cheese biscuit and a bacon/egg/cheese English muffin. The service was very slow, but the food was hot and fresh. Also, great value 2 sandwiches for $4.

Absolutely incompetent employees. Don't bother asking for any toppings to be removed, because they will be on there. I keep it as SIMPLE as possible for them, I say "Baconator combo with no cheese, no mayo, no ketchup. JUST BACON", and yet, there have been times they get half of it right.... been times they didn't put ketchup & mayo, but it still had the cheese... other times there was ketchup and mayo, but they actually took off the cheese..... How can they possibly only listen to half the instructions?? Like, what? It's usually either you followed instructions or you didn't, but they are so incompetent they can't even do either of those....
The food is prepared very good and the atmosphere is very clean and nice. Service is fast and the two times I been there I certainly will go again.
