When Pounders first opened, it was pretty good and the locals were happy that there would be good food in

I have eaten there quite a few times and decided to take my sister for lunch (crossing my fingers) but it was the worst it had ever been. I moved from England to Detroit 13 years ago and haven’t found a Fish & Chips, and I’ve traveled all over the US. This was the best I’ve had outside of the UK by far, and it’s not even close. The batter was crispy and had taste. The fish was fresh and together had a perfect combination. I’m not a huge fan of coleslaw with fish and chips but this was next level. Pounder's Waterfront Pub & Patio offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a view of the lake. The breakfast is excellent and highly recommended, featuring fantastic eggs benedict, a really good classic breakfast, and delicious options like the around the horn and the Canadian Sammy. The peameal bacon is noted as the best ever, and meals come with generous portions, including great home fries with mushrooms and onions and very good sausage and bacon.
The patio on the water is great, and the atmosphere is overall good with friendly and attentive staff, though service can be a little slower when busy. The interior is described as a little dark and somewhat bare in decor, lacking a pub ambiance. While the food is fine, some find it expensive for what it is. The experience is very enjoyable for families, who feel welcomed. It is considered a good spot for a sunny day.
