Just noticed this place only has 4 stars … ridiculous. This is the best fish and chips place around this area. Not only is the food delicious but the people who own it and work there are great. Easy 5 stars! Don’t listen to anyone else.

Worst experience ever. The owner was abusive there isn't anymore to say. Never to return. On the other hand I would like to say a warm thank you to the gentleman that came out of his store to my defence apparently the owner of the fish and chip store has made his own undesirable reputation.

Recommended dishes: Halibut and Chips

We've ordered here for years and it was great. Tonight was terrible. We ordered halibut and got cod for the same price. It was also so overcooked it couldn't be cut with a steak knife. It's all in the garbage. Never again.

Susan helped me with my order as I was a first-timer for fish and chips. She was very kind, attentive, and guided me throughout—service was perfect! 🙌 High-five to Susan for the great recommendations 👍✅

That said, the food itself was extremely oily. I only live 3 minutes away, but by the time I got home, my car seat had already absorbed oil dripping from the fish and chips, so it definitely needs less oil.

Great service, just hope the food can be a little lighter next time!

Captain George’s Fish & Chips is easily one of the best spots around for a hearty, satisfying meal. The value here is incredible — the prices are more than fair, especially considering the large portions and the quality of the food. The fish is always perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, and the fries are just the right balance of crunchy and soft.

What I really appreciate is that you don’t have to choose between affordability and quality — you get both, which is rare these days. It’s the kind of place that works for everyone: families, friends grabbing a casual bite, or even if you’re just stopping in for takeout.

If you’re craving classic fish and chips done right at a price that doesn’t break the bank, this is definitely the place to go. I’ll absolutely be coming back again and again.
