Update: 5 years later, Karen & her husband are still making incredible Thai food. Prices have remained reasonable and the food quality is still exceptional. They have become takeout-only post COVID.This hole-in-the-wall offers no frills fresh and quality Thai food in a mom &pop atmosphere. Definitely recommend for takeout.

This review is solely based on their Pho. The lady was super friendly and I’ve never tasted their other food. That said, they should absolutely not have Pho on their menu, or just call it soup. It was flavorless broth with noodles and strange thick brisket-ish beef. Unfortunately most of it ended up in the garbage.

The food tasted great. The lunch special was a perfect amount for the price. I wasn't a big fan of hot sour soup though. I didn't feel much of a sourness. They give wooden cutlery for take out which makes the food tasteless, so have your own ready.

Great food and service. Been a return customer for a few years now.. this place is top of all the Thai places around in my opinion.. especially the high standard of quality control before food leaves the door. Hard to find owners that care this much!

Hai Thai is a wonderful take out spot. Their food is always prepared perfectly and the taste is fantastic. My favourite is Thai Green Curry chicken. Spicy and yummy.

We have been enjoying Hai Thai for years now and wanted to share this gem with others. The food is always high quality with nice spices and generous portions. Karen, the owner with her husband the chef, make you feel appreciated and are so kind. We highly recommend to all.

The food is always delicous, consistent, and high quality! It's located near my work, but during pandemic I worked from home and would still drive 30 minutes to pickup Golden Curry with Wonton Soup and Spring Roll. It's that good. I highly recommend!

Food is always fresh and consistent. Used to eat here twice a week before the pandemic, the owner is very kind and always has a smile on her face when you go to get your food. The golden Curry Chicken is amazing, Highly recommend for their lunch special.

Excellent customer service and they explain everything clearly when you ask, amazing food that every single family member agrees to. Honestly this is my go to place from now on. Has a really home cooked vibe to the meals. So delicious, I'm a new fan for sure

I was very disappointed overall with the food, the cost and portion size. We ordered the General Tao Chicken, Singapore Noodles and Thai Basil Fried Rice. They didn't fill the containers up all the way. The lady at the counter even said, that the amout of food ordered would not be enough for 3 people. She gave us a cup of rice for an additional $2.00. Compared to other Thai restaurants this is one place I will not be ordering from again. The food doesn't even taste like authentic Thai food.

Take out only at this time. Decided to try something new in the Whitby area and was not disappointed at all. I got their bangkok style pad Thai lunch special. Which turned out to be really good. Can't wait to go back to try more items.

So happy that we stumbled on this place. Everything I’ve tried had been delicious. It’s about 100km away from home, but I get my husband to pick it up about once a week. Yes, there are Thai restaurants closer to us, but none compare to the quality and quantity you get for the price. You need to order in advance, because they’re busy, but it is totally worth any amount of time you need to wait. My favourite right now is the Peanut sauce curry with a side of steamed rice noodles. It’s enough for 2, but I choose not to share ?

Had pad Thai , spring rolls and chicken Tom yum soup. Can say very honestly it’s the worst ever Thai food we’ve ever had.The soup was a thick stodgy base with chicken pieces and bits of tomato in a most horrible way. The pad Thai was terrible. Not a single sign of anything other than grey stodgy noodles. Wish restaurants had money back. Threw out the food, so bad. Look at the photo of the so called Pad Thai. Looks so unappetizing. Tasted like very low class hospital food.Thing is, we’ve eaten here before and it wasn’t so bad. So something went really wrong there.

This may be the most flavor filled Thai food in Whitby / Oshawa. Every dish that I have tried was very tasty and fresh. Knowing the food is cooked fresh and tastes and good as it does keeps me coming back often. The lunch special is a super deal with the soup and spring roll included with the main course. This is my new go to lunch spot for clean tasting, flavourful food.
