Stopped in for a late bite as everything else in the area was closed. Dined in and ordered the spicy crispy fish with fried rice. The food was delicious, and service Rizwan provided was top notch.
If you're in the Whitby area and want good Hakka food, this is the spot to go.

This restaurant is a little gem! The food was very tasty and well seasoned (and served quickly). The portion was quite satisfying and the ambiance was really nice!
I would highly recommend for those craving Chinese/Thai food.

Horrible customer service. Take out the food but don't sit in. Front male with glasses and comb over is extremely rude and disrespectful and only cares about his regard when serving individuals that come in for pick up.
Horrible behavior and I felt like he thought he was more important than his own customers.
I will be coming back so please!!!!! Make sure that man is not serving me.

I made the mistake of trying Big Zen about a week ago and ordered their so-called āchili chicken.ā At first, I thought everything was fineāuntil I realized Iād bitten into what looked like pitiful cauliflower disguised as chicken. It was revolting, and I nearly gagged on the spot.
A week later, I visited a friendās place, and wouldnāt you know it? Heād ordered chili chicken from Big Zen too. I foolishly gave it another try, only to chomp down on a lump of rubbery, breaded fat that was just as disgusting as the cauliflower fiasco. Frankly, I donāt know how they have the nerve to call this āchicken.ā After these two revolting experiences, Iām done with Big Zen.
If youāre looking for Hakka food thatās actually edible, Palm Court is just up the road, and they seem to understand the basics of proper cookingāsomething Big Zen clearly canāt manage. Iāll never waste my money or my appetite on this place again.

Placed order through uber eats for corn and chicken soup. Chicken pieces were too big and it had no taste. No green chillies and or any hot sauce. Not recommended

Maybe the review will change as I try more on the menu, but so far great.
I ordered the shrimp fried rice and the vegetable corn soup. Considering I ordered at 11pm on Christmas, excellent!
The fried rice I would say is priced a little high as I paid extra for shrimp and there is about maybe 5 small pieces, but otherwise, great.
