Ordered the veal sandwich and it was soooo good. Full of juice and flavour — definitely not light on the sauce. Would totally recommend to anyone looking for a flavourful veal sandwich. I wish they gave us more napkins because that was messy. 😂

Great place to grab a quick great veal sandwich.

This California Sandwiches location in Piazza del Sol in Woodbridge is my personal favourite. Great sandwiches, fresh ingredients, friendly service, and very clean. This is actually a comment about the care for their customers. My husband lost his wallet and was going to have to deal with the hassle of having to replace all his identification and credit card. Shortly after losing his wallet, a young girl from California sandwiches drove to our house, which is not close to the restaurant location, to return the wallet. What a relief, what a lovely gesture! Today, we went to California Sandwiches to personally thank her and to give her a small token of appreciation. Her immediate instinct was to say that she didn’t want anything and the gentleman which I think is either the owner or the manager wanted to give us free food or at least a coffee. In a world where we are constantly doubting the goodness of humanity, this is proof that acts of kindness and good morals are alive and well.

If you're looking for the best veal sandwich in town, look no further. This place delivers every time! The veal is perfectly cooked — tender, juicy, and packed with flavor.
But what really sets this spot apart is the people. The staff here are some of the friendliest you'll meet — always welcoming, always smiling, and genuinely happy to serve you. Great food from great people — what more could you ask for?

The worst experience- Ordered an VEGGIE Eggplant Sandwich and got VEAL ?!?!?! are you kidding me!!!!!! Been a vegetarian all my life and this restaurants mistake literally scarred me. I called them to explain myself and the lady on the phone was being so nonchalant and could care less. FOR ALL VEGAN EATERS: CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU TRUST THIS RESTAURANT. Will never come here again.

Had a veal sandwich with bell peppers, mushrooms and hot peppers, was a little messy, but so good. Have eaten there on several occasions, the food is great.

Went in there and paid over $20 for a very mediocre sandwich. I’d recommend going elsewhere.

Nobody comes even remotely close to the veal sandwiches at California. The best in the city by a long shot!

Staff was friendly, hot veal mushrooms and cheese with a bottle of Pepsi $25.21. The price is normal. I'm used to that. However, the sandwich had nothing in it there was barely two pieces of veal in the bun, with very little sauce, there was adequate mushrooms and cheese as well as hot pepper. This is not normal, even for this location, I come here often. I don't know if I will be returning for a while.

I’ve been going to California Sandwiches for decades since the original on Claremont . At once it’s now family franchised I’ve found they do vary in quality and quantity from location to location. I happened to be in Woodbridge and decided to go for a chicken sandwich which is my go to.
This parking lot is highly problematic since there’s tons of hot heads cutting you off and honking and parking anywhere they want.
So beware the crazies!
The store is clean and ordering is easy and relatively fast. I saw the new rice balls so ordered 3 for $6.50 plus tax. But they are medium large and were great hot and covered in the provided sauce. Just melted cheese. Buono !
I ordered a hot chicken and man was it measly for $14.99! Just look at my photo compared to the ones on google by them …night and day . These are buns with a bit of chicken plus sauce/peppers. But they even charge for the hot peppers… that’s a new one on me! They say they’ve been doing that for years! Don’t think so! 45 cents for hot peppers where you have the option of sweet medium or hot seems a bit Chinzy to me ! Nickel and diming people . Like ordering fries then charging for ketchup!
Unfortunately a lot of food places around Woodbridge are pricey and modest portions so this place is no exception! I’d personally recommend a smaller store nearby that’s likely just as good, less busy and better portions !
