We had our son's Baptism here in May. We had an exceptional experience. The resturant was promp in replying to my emails with the planning and accommodating the cake delivery & florist. It was nice and private. Our party was the only group in the resturant. The food was incredible. The antipasto was great. Such large portions, so much food! The pasta.... everyone is still talking about how that was the best pasta they have ate at a resturant, delicious! We did not feel rushed to leave. We took our time. The food was served promptly with enough time between courses to socialize and be ready for the next dish.We can't recommend Cavallino enough for your next event.

I recently visited this restaurant to celebrate my new job and had a somewhat disappointing experience. While the servers were friendly, there seemed to be some unresolved conflicts between management and the staff that were evident during my visit. Unfortunately, this resulted in occasional instances of attitude and unnecessary comments amongst them. Although these issues were not directed at any customers, it would have been better if the restaurant had been able to maintain a more professional atmosphere. If you are looking for a tense atmosphere with unresolved tension then this is the place to go!

The service was great and we got our meals very quickly. Overall the food was tasty and presentation was very good. My only comment was my dinner which was the salmon. I found it a I little dry and perhaps somewhat overpowered with the maple glaze. One member of our party was celebrating a birthday and to our surprise the staff presented him with a dessert tray which was shared by all and greatly appreciated. Well done!

This has become my favourite Italian restaurant in the GTA since Roberto took over. Food is outstanding & service top notch. Can’t wait to go back.

Took the family out for mothers day. Place looked great I like the atmosphere. The food was good but definitely not worth the money you pay. Our entrée were all hit and miss. Our dessert was frozen. I could not believe that in a place that has prices like it does frozen anything is not acceptable at all. If I want frozen ill stay home and eat frozen pizza. As for the wait staff although nice and did their best again for the price you pay you deserve way more.

We were not impressed at all. For Mother's Day we wanted it to be a special day for our mother and have a nice Italian meal. We had been to the restaurant before and thought it would be a nice treat. But unfortunately, to our surprise when we arrived they did not have the full menu. Moreover, we were asked to all order our full meals as they had full occupancy (which they didn't) and if you know you are going to be busy on a day like Mother's Day then you should be well prepared. We chose the restaurant because of the menu. The salad and muscles were good and the salmon as well but the pasta was nothing to be desired, the calamari neither. Our Tiramisu was half frozen and the service was ok mediocre. The server was nice but lacking edict. I don't think my expectations are high as I understand we are not speaking about a Michelin Star restaurant but the basics like giving a table side plates for bread and culinary is a must. In the end it word have been better to stay home and honestly spent that money of something worth the money!

Good location, decent food, good service. We went for a business lunch. The host was very friendly and served us well. We ordered from the daily specials: Fish and mushroom lasagne. The lasagne was passable. I love mushroom so that wasn't the reason. It was way too cheesy and lacked sauce. It came cold and then when I asked for it to be heated they put more cheese (lord?!) and removed some of the sauce on the plate. The fish looked great.

Absolutely amazing experience! It was our first time here, and we were celebrating my dad’s birthday. We got platters to share, around 8 people. Restaurant atmosphere was great, not loud so you aren’t yelling to hear one another. The food was SPECTACULAR! The specials were lovely and the menu options were so unique and tasty. There wasn’t a single plate we didn’t enjoy! The staff was so kind and helpful. They even cut up and plated the birthday cake we brought with us. Overall great time, would highly recommend, and definitely coming back!

I went here yesterday for Valentine’s Day excited to have some pizza and calamari. Once we got there, we saw that the menu was limited and expensive. The food was not worth the price. It was $100 per person before tax and tip. It wasn’t mentioned anywhere on their website or OpenTable about the limited menu and prefixed price. Once we got there, before we saw the menu, they offered us water and a complimentary drink where we felt obligated to stay. The service was fast but pushy. I was done my ravioli and my fiancé was still eating his risotto; when the waitress came over and took my plate and looked over at him and said “looks like you are pretty much done,” and took his plate as well. We also got a bottle of wine and spend over $300 on dinner.I was really looking forward to having a good Italian dinner for Valentine’s Day with my fiancé but was a sadly disappointed. All this place cared about was money!!! Never going back! Also, I have noticed that the restaurant doesn’t reply to any of the low star reviews; only the 5 stars. Poor customer services!

I had the same experience yesterday on Valentines Day as the most recent reviewer Julie. They had a limited menu and there was no mention of this on OpenTable or on their website. Spent $330 after tip (service was fast to be fair) but could have spent the same at a much fancier restaurant with higher quality food. We also did get a $60 bottle of wine. We both wanted to leave when we saw the price of $100 per person along with the limited menu but didn’t want to be rude. I felt that this was just a cash grab to take advantage of the demand created by Valentines Day. It’s a shame since there are a lot of positive reviews and the normal menu looks amazing, but we won’t be returning due to this one bad experience. Hope this review encourages management to rethink their strategy for Valentine’s Day next year.

Came here for Valentine’s booked on open table, food menu looked great. But when we got there. The menu was very limited due to a special menu for valentines which we were not aware of prior to booking so that was very disappointing, since we were looking forward to some things we saw on their menu….Usually when booking with open table if there’s a special menu or limited menu it usually notifies us. Not to mention the fixed price was 100 plus tax and gratuities. And it was 2 adult and 3 kids… Appetizers were a choice of oyster Rockefeller or smoked Scaramuzza oyster was the better choice the smoked Scaramuzza wasn’t anything special. The second course was a cheese ravioli with rosé sauce or a cuttlefish, black ink risotto both were tasty. The last choice was a chicken dish, which didn’t sound too interesting, or a veal with mashed potato and rapini. The veal was dry AF. Mashed potato and rapini were delicious. To be honest, they should have just stuck with their menu it wasn’t even busy so I feel like it was just a money grab.
