Me, my brother and my mom ate dinner here on Family day and we had the worst experience FROM THE MANAGER. While eating, I pulled out a hair from the rice that I was eating and pulled it out of my mouth (the hair was literally inside the packed rice since it was already my third scoop) and I called the server to tell him that I have hair on my found. The server took the rice bowl and told me he would call the manager, but I was just going say that I would just like a new bowl of rice. The manager came by and said “I’m sorry but this is not our hair, it looks like hair flown off from another customer in the restaurant” and I told her you wouldn’t even apologize for what happened? She then said “didn’t you hear me apologize to you?” At that point I was shocked, and I told her it couldn’t be ours because it’s not possible for the rice to be flying and get stuck inside and I told her at this point I didn’t want to argue and I really just want a new cup if rice. She then walked away and saw me that I looked really upset. She then tried to refill my glass with water and then tried to argue with my brother. She said “It’s okay if you guys don’t come back” (I was shocked she said this) and then my brother was explaining that I was just telling the server that there was hair INSIDE the bowl of rice and I just wanted a new one. The manager kept arguing with him which made my mom upset and then Julie (the manager) told us that she is very sure it is not one of their staff’s hair and she said it is my mom while pointing to her. At this point I got so mad and I told her how rude she was, especially with what happened and how she’s handling the situation. I told her that if she thinks we are looking for a free meal, we are not and if she really wants to check it that she can check her restaurant’s camera. She then became more rude and unprofessional and told us she was trying to explain to us so that we can have a good time. At this point I told her that her servers were doing a good job and it was only her (the manager) that is ruining our dinner. We had to literally tell her to leave us alone so that we can at least eat whatever we were paying for. This is the worst way to handle a situation especially with her bragging that she has been in the food industry for 25 years. I hope the owner of the restaurant can take a look at her.

Incredible experience. It was my first time eating like this. Everything was delicious and high quality! Agreed the 12% "service fee" and then the prompt for the tip is a little shady. Its unclear if the service fee is a tip for the servers and workers, or just the 2nd prompted tip? Should be more clear.

Price + quality = Value

Portions + Delicious + Great Service = A great dinner out

I eat at Korean BBQ a fair amount at different places around the GTA first time back a Chako in a while.

Right now they are more affordable than comparable AYCE, and have several great specials ( their late night price is unbeatable).

Highlights were the boneless Beef Ribs ( really great cut of very lean meat, well marinated) and the thicker than usual Squid ( well cut too).

❤️ the very Canadian #Chapmans 🧁

FOOD: AMAZING they just keep coming with oil all the time and pouring it, sometimes it gets greasy. I think this is a new thing because I’ve been going to chako for years and never had oil poured on my grill.

SERVICE: you have to always wave your hand or ask nobody comes to see if you need anything.
The manager is so rude to her staff. I’ve heard
Her command them in such a rude manner..

ATMOSPHERE: Small but cute & the music is lit always got some R&B

The dining experience here was generally good, but the billing process felt like a scam. They added a 12% tip to the bill without informing me, and then presented the total on the credit card machine, prompting me to add more tips. The waiter handed me the credit card machine over the printed receipt, making it difficult to notice the already included tip. As a result, I ended up tipping 25% in total. When I realized this and requested a refund, the waiter refused. This is the worst and most deceptive practice I've encountered in Toronto.

Love that restaurant...
Fast service with great tasting meats and veggies.
Cooking yourself on Korean grill it's fun and fast as they slice meats very thin so it's actually faster than you think.
They change your grilling plate anytime you ask a server, and they have many of them so you can anyone that is passing by.
Ordering is easy just like in all you can eat Japaneese restaurants,
They have printed all popular items and all you do is write down with pencil how many said items you need and it's served very fast in a small dishes.
They are prepared in advance most likely to speed up service.

Been there 3 times so far and finally decided to leave review as they really deserve 5 stars.
Every single time manager came to our table to check if everything is OK- that's great service!
Great location as well 1 min from highway 400.
And very reasonably priced.
I have included picture of our bill $210 for 4 people on a busy Friday! That's not bad at all.
Thank You Chako!

I went here a with my husband but we got sick after eating . They offered me two coupons for dinner but when I went back and tried to use it the manager only gave me one ? Wont be back & I would’ve went to a differnt place if they hadn’t falsely advertised the two free dinners . Other than the one time I got sick and the false advertisement they’re a decent restaurant

Julie and staff are amazing.
Ive been going to chakos for years.
I used to go to the Courtney park location before it closed , my experience there was subpar due to one bad server. I said i would never return to this chain again, that is until my fiancée and i decided to give them a shot years later at the new Vaughan location.

Im so glad we did!! . The staff and manager are all amazing and work tirelessly to make sure you have a great experience.
I drive past another location just to come to this one about an hour away from home

My water never goes empty and Food is brought to us very quickly and with a smile.

What a complete difference . I would highly recommend this location .

Walked-in on a Friday night, so we had to wait 10mins for a table. Food was good and the price for their eat-all-you-can is pretty decent and affordable. Service was top-notch! They were very attentive and efficient despite the restaurant being full and busy. We didn’t even have to ask for the bill. The moment i finished eating my dessert, the bill was dropped at our table. Overall, good food and amazing service!
