My first review and I’m writing this because Penelope Social deserves my time. My family and I went there recently. Not only is the food delicious but the staff working there are outstanding. Friendly and welcoming and accommodating as we were walk ins with no reservation. Keep doing what you do. Fantastic place. Great menu selection

This place is crazy loud. It’s small so the many many tables of people yelling in a small room echoes…feel like we lost our hearing.

I ordered take out and one of the dishes I ordered was the Caesar salad as an appetizer. It was $24.70 for a Caesar salad so I would have expected enough to feed two people as is the case when we dine in at Penelope. Unfortunately I have to say I was beyond disappointed at the size and amount of salad I received with my take out order. How someone had the heart to put that little bit of salad and charge $24 is sad. Needless to say we were not able to share that as our appetizer for two people. I emailed the restaurant expressing my concerns and it has been 5 days and I have not heard back from them.

Great experience at Penelope Social! Mark was an awesome server friendly and attentive. We had the Margherita and Vodka pizzas, both were delicious, especially the Vodka one. Definitely coming back!
Great sandwiches and the best espresso in Vaughan. Pizza is good but a bit shy on the toppings that matter. Needs a bit more burratta on my pizza

Exceptional food, service, and atmosphere. I had the bistecca sandwich on focaccia for lunch, and it was impeccable. Penelope makes the focaccia in-house, and it was fresh and crispy, and deeply flavourful.
They make a perfect espresso, too - and have a Kimbo crema machine too, if you have a sweet tooth.
The owners came by the table to say hello and share a little more about the food we ordered.

Absolutely blown away by Penelope Social – this place is a gem in Vaughan! Drove from Whitby and definitely worth the trip. We started with the Vodka and Calabrese pizzas, and I have to say, these were some of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The quality of the ingredients is second to none, and the dough itself is phenomenal – light, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. You can really tell they put a lot of care into every detail.
We also ordered the lobster roll, which was a big highlight for us. It’s so hard to find something this good without going into downtown Toronto, but Penelope Social delivered in every way. Fresh, delicious, and definitely one of the best I’ve had outside the city.
For dessert, we couldn’t resist trying a few options – the tiramisu, Nutella cake, and funnel cake – and every single one was outstanding. Each dessert had its own unique twist, and they were all prepared with the same level of quality as the mains.
On top of the amazing food, the service was equally impressive. The staff were attentive, welcoming, and genuinely made sure we were enjoying ourselves throughout the meal. It’s rare to find a spot that balances great food and great service so well.
Overall, Penelope Social is a refreshing addition to Vaughan’s food scene. High-quality dishes, unbeatable pizza, incredible desserts, and customer service that makes you feel valued. I can’t recommend this place enough – definitely worth visiting and revisiting!
