Was greeted as soon as I walked in the door with a smile and sweet smelling aromas coming from the kitchen. Ordered the curry chicken and it was great. Also had a beef patty nice flaky outside good filling.

I've been ordering from Tropical Island Caribbean for nearly 10 years—and it’s still my go-to spot for incredible jerk chicken.

Every time I walk in or place an order, I know I’m in for something special. The jerk chicken is consistently amazing—perfectly spiced, smoky, and always tender. It’s the kind of flavor that keeps you coming back, and clearly, I have!

Over the years, I’ve tried just about everything on the menu, and it never disappoints. The rice and peas with oxtail gravy is out and the portions are generous. Whether I’m grabbing a quick lunch or feeding a crowd, they always deliver quality and flavor.

The staff are friendly and welcoming, and they’ve come to recognize me over the years, which adds a nice personal touch. It’s rare to find a place that stays this consistent for so long.

If you’re looking for authentic Caribbean food that’s made with care and packed with flavor, Tropical Island Caribbean is the real deal. Ten years in, and I’m still just as excited for my next order!

I used Tropical Island to cater for my wedding and it was one of the best decisions I made. Beverly (owner) is so amazing, you can tell she is passionate about her cooking. She was so professional in putting together my order and giving me practical feedback on what would be best. We ordered vegetable soup, jerk & bbq chicken, fish, chickpeas, rice, plantains and steam veggies. The food was delivered just as expected and it was delicious. Most of my guests cleaned their plates and commented about how good the food was especially the BBQ chicken. I'm sorry I don't have a pic to show because my venue did a great job at plating it as well but trust me when I say you will not regret buying food here.

Tropical Island Caribbean Restaurant is fantastic. The food is amazing, full of flavour and always fresh, and the portion sizes are generous. The best part is the people. The staff are so warm and friendly, they make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. I will definitely be coming back again and again.

Love the food here & staff are amazing!
Very uplifting vibe from the majority of the servers & often have some gospel music playing in the back/occasionally heard the staff singing kitchen while preparing the food which brings a great atmosphere. I normally get the curry goat wrap & usually eat it way too fast due to my over excitement of the tasty food/pepper sauce & get a cramp..oxtail is amazing & everything has always been fresh when I have been there. Prices slightly went up about a month or longer ago which was disappointing considering how busy they usually are but they do offer some daily specials, would be nice if they change up the specials. I’ve been there for breakfast too & had a filling salt fish meal with all the fixings, green banana, yam, etc. Great meal to start the day with.

Been driving by this place for so many years.. finally went in the other day..mang I've been missing out.... bought the jerk pork...the rice was so good..just perfect.. recommend !!!

I have tried Caribbean all over the GTA and this place is my favorite. Huge selection of items to choose from. Great portions and the food is amazing. I drive from South Etobicoke to eat here. All staff are friendly and the prices are really fair. Highly Reccommended.

🌴 Tropical Island Caribbean Restaurant – Jerk Chicken Review 🌶️

The Jerk Chicken? A true warrior of flavor. Juicy, smoky, and perfectly spiced—enough heat to awaken your senses, but not so much that you'd call for a medic droid.

Served atop a bed of rice and beans, with a small side of creamy macaroni salad for balance. Every bite brought harmony, like a well-tuned lightsaber hum.

jerk chicken was the best i've ever had, such a great spot, the side salad was also super tasty too. Service was great :D lots of places to sit inside.
