This place is the most disgusting place I have ever been to. It’s disorganized and the dirtiest. I honestly don’t know how they would pass a food inspection. Would not recommend this place all. Where the pastries are and bread you can tell it hasn’t been clean in ages. The floors are disgusting, dirt stuck to things. Staff has no clue of what’s going on, they cough on the products, when taking pastries their sweater sleeves are touching other products. It’s the worst place. I’ve seen gas stations washrooms cleaner than this place.

Customer service is extremely bad. You need to stand at the counter for at least 5 minutes while employees pass by, joke and chit chat. It feels like as if I should be sorry that I interrup that chit chat. I am quite chill but each time I go to this place, I keep wondering how this place survives. They need to work on customer service biggggg time.

Our family goes there many times a week for bread, pastries, or to have a meal.
It was recently my grandfather's 89th birthday. We ordered what we always order, a massa folhada cake, which is his favourite. So that night, we cut into the cake, and it's not that cake. It is some sort of vanilla cake with chocolate and some sort of pineapple filling? It was actually gross, we didn't eat it. My mom can't even eat pineapple. So we call the bakery and we tell him that they mixed up the order. The woman who answered the phone checked the work order and she confirmed that is says massa folhada cake. She said we would have to speak to the manager in the morning because he is no longer there and the store was closing.
So we contact the manager in the morning and explain the situation to him. He says the work order says vanilla cake. We have never ordered a vanilla cake before. How did the work order suddenly change from what the lady read the night before? The easy solution would be to apologise and offer a replacement cake or, because the bday already happened, to offer a refund. It's just a shame that they would resort to lying about what we ordered, over a $35 cake, especially when we spend at least that amount every single week. It's a shame what this location has become. I don't think we will be patronising their bakery any further. Shame.

Today I asked latte without sugar. I asked again: without sugar. The lady said yes. On the bus I had to split it out it was full with sugar. It was not the first time they did not understand or paying attention for their work! I won’t go there anymore!
Rough, we need a better Portuguese bakery in the area.

The person taking my order didn't add the $1.30 to my bill when I asked to pay cash and debit instead they changed me the full $9.55 and took my money and put it in their tip box which was very rude and uncalled for.

What a delightful trip down memory lane! It’s amazing that after 19 years, the magic of this bakery is still alive. The lemon meringue that first captured your attention sounds unforgettable—like a little cloud of joy! It’s wonderful that the current lemon meringue lives up to the memory, and that the Portuguese tarts and shrimp patties were just as satisfying. Six delicious items for $12 in Toronto? That’s an absolute steal. Love how this place combines nostalgia, quality, and great value all in one—definitely a gem worth visiting again and again!

When we first moved to Canada, our apartment was in this area. Although I never really liked sweets I used to admire the cakes from the window. As a teenage kid who eats food with eyes first, one thing that caught my eye is the lemon meringue that looks like a cloud. That was my fave and wont forget it till now. 19 years after, I pass by this area. I am happy to see that regulars still come here and I was first sad when I did not see my cloud meringe but I got the lemon meringue which is very similar (if not better). I got some portuguese tarts too and shrimp patties. Theyre all great. 6 items and I paid $12 in this economy in Toronto. I love it!!!!
