The King Kong smoothie is a nice treat
Atmosphere is really chic and cozy. Service is excellent. I had the Huevos Rancheros and a plain coffee. the portion size was good. Food was fresh. The potatoes were roared to perfection not too greasy. Eggs were done nicely. I didn’t particularly enjoy the salsa but that’s just me maybe because I do prefer spicier food. I found the salsa to be a bit too sour for my taste. Coffee was great. I would definitely recommend this place and I will be back!.

The owners of this cafe care deeply about their community and their family of clients and friends. It’s an amazing gem in the town of Weston. I recommend any empanada and all of their drinks are wonderful. Stella knows the sweetness levels of any coffee drink I’ve ordered and that means the world to me. I am a forever fan!

I went solo on a Sunday afternoon. The cafe wasn't too busy.
The decor was very rustic with several antiques sitting around the bar and on the walls. It felt very homey and authentic, with South American vibes.
I ordered an oat milk latte, the Yerba Mate gourd, a beef empanada, and the chicken sandwich.
Service was very friendly and patient, with one woman (presumably the owner) taking her time to show me how to drink/pour Yerba Mate properly while also speaking to the origin of the drink. My latte was forgotten (had to request it afterwards) and the chicken sandwich was a bit slow to come out, but otherwise I had no issues.
I've never had Yerba Mate before so I can't comment much, but it felt like a strong tea and it was cool to try. The chicken sandwich was just okay, it felt a little plain and the sauce felt a bit runny but I appreciated the amount of meat in it. I found the latte to be a bit overly milky, which made it hard to appreciate the coffee flavour. The beef empanada was pretty tasty.
It was definitely a cool experience, and this spot seems to be a local favourite as a lot of the people coming in and out seemed to be regulars. I'd love to come back and try some of the other offerings here. They also had some nice merch, like t-shirts and embroidered hats!

El Almacen is an exceptional Latin café that delivers a delightful brunch experience, earning every bit of its 5 out of 5 stars. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm, inviting atmosphere and the authentic Latin flavors that filled the air.
The menu is thoughtfully curated, offering a variety of delicious options that perfectly capture the essence of Latin cuisine. Each dish is prepared with care, bursting with vibrant flavors that exceeded all my expectations. Whether you're a fan of traditional dishes or looking to try something new, El Almacen has something to satisfy every palate.

Disclaimer: My parents are Argentinian, so this review won’t be without its biases. But hey, best to at least be transparent about it.
When I want to feel like I took a flight to Mendoza and found the best place to chill, I go here.
I’ve known this place for almost 10 years now, since its headier days at Queen West and Dovercourt. It’s still every bit a godsend as it was then (and so is their espresso machine).
I don’t know anywhere else that’ll serve you a proper mate (a hot, water based herbal drink that’s beloved by us Argies), nor do I want to, for that matter. And the empanadas taste like someone’s abuela made them.
But if you’re more into coffee, they have some of the best I’ve ever had.
Doesn’t end there. Their breakfast and lunch goes toe to toe with anyone else’s in town. My new go-to is there huevos rancheros. Beauty.
And that stunner of a tin ceiling? It makes the place.
Go to El Almacen. You’ll love it.
