In a world overrun with crap fast food chains it’s amazing that there are still family run, home cooked restaurants that offer distinct flavors that cannot be replicated elsewhere. Roti King is one such place. Growing up in the area, my best friends father from St Kitts used to take us to Roti King in the late 80s. Then I moved away and only returned to Toronto recently. I was happy to see the place had survived all these years and the covid debacle that shuttered so many small businesses owned by migrants. I walked in and it was exactly as I remembered it all those decades ago. Ordered a boneless chicken roti and it was perfect! Talk about consistency to stay on point after all those years. Reading some of the other reviews here it’s sad that people don’t appreciate a neighborhood joint like Roti King for what it is - a place to get a fantastic roti just like the name says. Roti King lives! Trust me we don’t want to live in a world of industrialized factory made garbage food full of chemical additives. Go out and support your local restaurants and family owned businesses and if you love Roti Trini style then get over to Roti King pronto! Highly recommended.

Super bad food, ordered chicken noodles and roti chicken.
Bami chicken was floating in the oil. Too fat, really a lot of fat!!
Roti chicken: quite a disgrace, the potatoes were floating in some kind of curry water 😄 .
In addition, the chicken (fillet) was all bone and fat. While we ordered chicken fillet. What a mess this is. You don't even give this to your dogs

was in the mood for Surinamese food (Halal). Everything was fresh and the service was good. The taste was just not what I expected from Surinamese food, unfortunately. There is no seating inside, only some bar areas where you have to eat standing.

The roti chicken fillet is decreasing in quality. This is not in proportion to the price. In the past it was better in taste and quality. Unfortunately we don't come here anymore.

plantain is not ripe and not hard.
satay sauce is not tasty
egg is like rubber
My fried rice contains onion peels and hard rice grains
other than that the chicken tastes fine
I also came here every now and then to get sandwiches, but unfortunately this experience put an end to my visit to Roti King. Shame
Today I got a roti at the Roti King, I was impressed by the display, the service was ok, the roti was generous, but that was the positive side, I have never tasted such a tasteless Kerry chicken and then every € is overpaid once, but never again.

Very disappointing
Bami doesn't taste like noodles, it's just noodles with some color and black pepper.
Chicken has color but no taste, even smells raw.
Baka bana I have no idea how to describe it, it looked like a sponge.
Waste of money
If you want good Surinamese food, definitely don't order here

When I walked in, the boys were hard at work, but still took the time to remain social and friendly. My food was ready quickly, and I walked away satisfied. A few meters away I heard someone calling my name; it turned out that the guys forgot something with my order. Making mistakes can happen, but it shows a lot of character that they took the time to run after me to put it right.

If my grandmother had made roti, she would have been jealous of Roti King's roti. The roti roll was creamy, tender, full of vegetables, balanced and pleasantly full.
So, if you don't know what you want for your birthday, ask for a gift voucher from the Roti King.

Delicious Surimamese. Not so cozy but great food. Taking it with you is a good idea.
