This was an exceptional meal, with all courses perfectly matched to the entrees. The starters were minimal but delicious, especially the mushroom soup. The servers were knowledgeable and attentive. This is not he sort of restaurant that will impress with overly generous servings; rather, it will impress with the ingredients and the preparations. Far and above all other restaurants in the Rogue Valley.

Service was good, waiter fun. Never got an answer to some questions. Had one special diet in the group, asked for.plain steak and Vegas, and got steak and mushrooms.... are mushrooms a vegi? After long wait for food, potatoes were room temp.asked if this was intentional..... crickets. High-end place needs to improve. Heard it was a new chef. Let's hope they get it together.

We enjoyed parts of our meal at Alchemy. The restaurant's mixologist is excellent, and our drinks were perfect, although they were pricey. The wine list was extensive. We chose a $36 Domaine de Thulon Beaujolais Villages Gamay from 2019. It was good and worked well with our entrée choices. The steelhead special was presented with a sauce that overpowered the fish. My petite filet was not fork-tender as expected. I was instructed to cut the meat across the grain for the best experience. It was served with an inexplicable, very soupy mashed potato and gravy in a bowl. The potato chips and trout roe were a tasty starter. The special menu stated that it would be presented with microgreens, but that was not the case. The best salad option was the chopped Caesar stack. My fig and mixed greens salad was disappointing. The fig was tiny and cut into four parts. The overdressed greens were hiding a smear of goat cheese at the bottom of the bowl. Our server, Hogan, was attentive and personable.

We went to Alchemy for our anniversary dinner, however our experience was incredibly disappointing. They were not very busy, which made it nice and quiet, however with that said it took nearly 30 minutes just to get our drinks, the table seated after us received theirs first. I will say however that the drinks were made very well - just a very long wait, especially when it's slow. I went with the NY Strip, my husband went with the duck. I requested medium rare and the steak came out overcooked although they disagreed. I've had a lot of steak in my lifetime though and know what a proper medium rare should look like. It was also tough when cutting through it. My husbands duck was also overcooked and incredibly rubbery, so much so that even the waitress could tell it was overcooked just by looking at it (which I appreciated - she was honestly very kind and understanding of the situation). I have never sent food back before, but it was a special occasion and for the price point we expected the food to at least be cooked properly. I will say they kept our waters refilled, and again the cocktails were delicious. Although they offered to recook our meal we did ultimately decide to leave without eating and found a different restaurant. Perhaps this was a one off night, but disappointing nonetheless.

This was perhaps one of the best, if not best; meals and steak of my life. The duck was amazing, the blackberry salad exquisite and drinks all on point. Will definitely be back.

We went to Alchemy for the first time in awhile. Things have changed! An item that we have always loved is the bread service that came with a variety of flavored butters. That is no longer what you receive. The Caesar salad is completely different not in a good way...very mundane and like you get anywhere. The service was lovely but a disappointing meal all in all. The mains were the better part of it all but not sure when we will return.
This has been our go to special place for awhile but for the price it didn't seem as special as previously experienced.

Atmosphere was perfect, a separated spacious table for the 6 of us and the service was excellent. The specialty cocktails were unique, alcohol forward and the appetizers tastey with appealing presentation.. The food served was very good, however, 2 of the entree's arrived at table 5 minutes later than the first 4 and entree' presentation was lackluster for the quality and price point of the food being served.. Also, several items listed on the current menu were not available and the menu has fewer choices than the menu seen on the website.

Wine was wonderful. Our server was very good. Appetizers okay. Ordered medium rare steak and got a medium well steak. We sent the prime strip steak back and they brought us a sirloin steak instead of a prime strip steak. The dessert was very good. They did comp the steak.

Wait staff are superb. Assistant Chef cannot cook. Duck was raw. Steak was fatty. Ratatouille was uncooked. Executive Chef was absent, and I really showed. Disappointing dinner.

Great foodie restaurant in Ashland. Loved the orange wine, as well. Service was great with a smile. I will be back.

We were disappointed in the panzanella, which was advertised as tomatoes and stone fruit. There were no tomatoes, and the stone fruit was underripe and not very flavorful. The octopus appetizer was good. The fish main dish, Steelhead, was well prepared and the sauce was delicious. However the dish was very small, and could have used a bit more side, for example a few small potatoes or a bit of pilaf. The duck was very generous and well prepared; the sauce was good but the plate as a whole could have used a touch of tart/acid to balance the rich meat. Dessert, chocolate mousse, was good.

The Alchemy restaurant in Ashland offers a wonderful blend of location and atmosphere — refined without feeling pretentious. Service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall experience. The tuna carpaccio was excellent, fresh and delicate in flavor. I particularly enjoyed the foamed potatoes and the kale-and-mushroom side that accompanied my ribeye; both were prepared with care and full of character.

The ribeye itself was cooked perfectly, but fell short in other respects — only about three-quarters of an inch thick, lacking marbling, and somewhat difficult to cut. On the brighter side, I had a “fun” gin and tonic made with locally sourced tonic, which brought an unexpected twist to a classic drink.

Overall, a restaurant worth visiting for its setting, service, and inventive touches, with a few areas for improvement in the steak department.

Too bad, so sad! This WAS our favorite restaurant in Ashland, but they changed chefs recently.....no longer offer the mushroom flan...sad. On our visit, they were OUT of their artisan bread, panzanella AND their signature cheese plate...really? The tuna carpaccio we ordered was amazingly good, albeit tiny, and the creamy potato and kale ratatouille offered as sides were very good. BUT, our ribeye steak was tough, too small and over cooked. The $17 raspberry tart was topped with whipped cream that was "off" and, while it was tasty, it was not pretty...not worth $17! We will not go back again.

Great happy hour menu. Grab a seat outside on a nice day before catching a show at OSF or the local cabaret

I get annoyed when I drop $240 for 2 people and leave hungry. Im even more annoyed because our show is over, im starving and nothing is open. Would it have killed you to put 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes (or anything) with my 6 oz of market fish? Won't be back.
