I loved that it was a smaller, straightforward menu but still carefully curated. We are regulars here mostly take out but we love Carlitos. Today is my birthday and we went for dinner had an amazing dinner and as always the owners and staff are beyond wonderful. “Upscale, authentic Indonesian restaurant in the heart of downtown Ashland.

I ordered the rendang, sate’ ayam, and the house made sambal. It was all amazing. The rendang (the chef’s most iconic dish) was unique, super moist and tender in texture, the meat soaked up all the curry flavors which gave it incredible flavor. The vegetables and rice paired nicely with it. Sate’ ayam was some of the best I’ve had. Nice char marks on the chicken and skewer. Peanut sauce was delicious, not too sweet with real ingredients. The small side of house made sambal may have stole the show and paired great with the other items. It has a nice spice level and great flavor, almost smoky. The worker told me they get the chiles shipped straight from Indonesia to make it on house.

Vibe is upscale and authentic. Modern and traditional Indonesian decor on walls. Large bar in front of the restaurant and covey dining area in the back with comfy cushioned seats and pillows, and the best part was the open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work. Customer service was excellent, very kind and food came out fresh and quickly.”

“We stopped in Ashland, OR for the night and decided to try Yuan Yuan Restaurant based on its great Google reviews. I knew they didn’t offer dine-in, so takeout was perfect for us to enjoy back at the hotel.

There was a little miscommunication over the total when ordering, but it wasn’t a big deal. The lady working was very kind, apologized for the inconvenience, and even provided us with paper plates and plastic utensils. Our food was also packed with care.

We ordered the Broccoli Chicken, Egg Fried Rice, and Egg Drop Corn Soup. Everything was delicious, and the portions were generous enough for two full servings for the both us. Overall, it was a great way to end the night, satisfied and with plenty of good food!”

“Okay, I am a HUGE boba fan. And sadly, ever since having Matcha Boba House - all other boba is terrible. They hold a high standard for their products and if you don’t like it - they remake it! Their brown sugar boba is the perfect texture and sweetness. The employees are so fun and so kind (lookin at you Gabby)! And the inside is so cute!! My friend and I come every week for our weekly boba and playing games date. Also also - the owners are amazing. Please come try it out!!!”

“Great news for dog owners! If you REALLY enjoy sharing a meal with your dog, Louie’s is your place. Last night, a dog at the indoor table next to ours was enjoying dinner from the same plate as it’s human! The human would have a bite, then the dog would lick a bite off the plate. When I asked our waiter about this uncommon situation, he replied that Louie’s prides itself on being very pet friendly. I then said, “The dog and the human are eating from the same plate at the table!” He replied, “That may be pushing it a little,” but took no action to discourage the happy dog and human.”

“Bento East is such a gem to find! I absolutely love their beef bao buns — they’re so fluffy, warm, and perfectly soft to bite into. I ended up getting four of them because they were just that good! You can really taste the care that goes into their food.

The staff are super nice and welcoming every time I stop by, which makes the whole experience even better. The only thing to keep in mind is that they’re cash only, which can be a little inconvenient since I usually pay by card — but honestly, their food is so worth it that I don’t even mind stopping by an ATM first.

If you’re in Ashland and craving something flavorful, cozy, and satisfying, definitely check out Bento East. Their bao buns alone make it worth the trip!”

“I moved here from Alaska last year and left my favorite Thai restaurant behind. I’ve been pretty sad about that, so I was really excited to discover Mam’s. I found them last week, and I’ve already gotten takeout from them twice. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is delicious. The papaya som tum salad is the best I’ve had anywhere. The green curry was amazing (the melt-in-your-mouth eggplant kind of blew my mind, and the balance of the spice with the creamy coconut milk was perfect), the larb gai is very flavorful, and the fresh rolls were excellent. My partner had the Pad Kee Mao last week and the Pad Ladna today and loved them both. We’ve also had the chicken satay and cucumber salad. I don’t think there was anything we got that we didn’t thoroughly enjoy. Thai is one of my favorite cuisines, and Mam’s Happy Thai Express is up there among the best Thai restaurants I have eaten at, hands down. I look forward to trying more items on their menu in the future. Thank you so much!”

“Ordered the much hyped pastrami zombie. Very good sandwich. Crunchy lightly toasted bread wrapping smoky, flavorful pastrami and coleslaw that must all the homemade. The sandwich was small, in a world of oversized stuffed sammiches. Tasty, but a bit reserved.”

What really blew us away is how there’s no seed oils, they make their pastries with beef tallow, and they have a Berkey for water! This place is much more of a cafe than a restaurant, exactly what the plaza needs. Great vegetarian options. All organic. Comfortable seating. Specialty Lattes. Wonderful Gelato!
