I'm hoping it was just an off night at Alchemy, but from start to finish it was a poor experience. Lovely spot, interesting looking menu, service was slow but friendly. But the food definitely did not live up to expectations or price. Even though they removed the charge for one of the dishes, it isn't enough to make me want to try them again.
Always have enjoyed dining here over the years. We were celebrating my wife's birthday which was acknowledged upon seating. Nothing about the birthday again after we were seated. Unfortunately, tonight was off. Service was horrible! We heard others complaining as well. Kidd seemed to really be struggling to stay on top of things. Disappointing. Food was good once it finally arrived (although found out they ran out of the duck - after I ordered it)
Will probably not go back. Took 2 hours get main dish served. Food was ok but didn't match menu. Fig salad starter had about half of a fig ... not what we expected. Steak dinner advertised potatoes and mushrooms but came with both mixed in a purée. Not what we expected.
