Owner chef does an excellent job with presenting his Indonesian cuisine. Everything we ate was delicious. They have a non alcoholic drink of cucumber and lime that is so refreshing. Get the forbidden rice dessert, a great way to end you experience?
Our whole dining experience was a series of delights, and I’ll be dreaming of this place until we return to Ashland someday. The Rendang was a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth, nuanced explosion of flavor; the mocktails were bright and refreshing; the ambiance was soothing and full of charm; and everyone who works there was kind and quick to offer helpful and intriguing information. I loved getting to learn about the ceremonial yellow rice that is served here, and it reinforced the feeling that, in dining here, you have been luckily invited to a ceremony or a special family meal. This place is a gift and a gem - I’ll be back as soon as possible to try everything on the menu!
Had the tofu/tempeh lunch and spicy pineapple mocktail, both were good but as others have said, the portion is a bit on the small side.
Delicious and fresh dishes and especially loved the unique spicy chili paste to add to my food.
I had a nice dinner here but to be honest, the food was a bit lacking. The menu descriptions sounded much better than the actual dishes which were a little bit bland. Stilly tasty and would return.
Food was very good. Nicely decorated interior. Lost one star because they were slightly late opening. Otherwise everything was perfect!
You would think for $27 you would get a decent portion of food. The Rendang was very good Gulai was not good at all.
The portions of rice and curry were so little.
Overall the food and the experience was mediocre. I so not recommend this place at all.
I was also really looking forward to the rice pudding but man that was also disappointing.
On top of it all we were told that this place was rated top 5 restaurant in the state of Oregon but I find that hard to believe.
Recommendation, i would serve curry in its own bowl and rice separately to share for the table. And bigger portion
A wonderful local restaurant with great ser ice and very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Food was delicious, highly recommend the Jack of all trades cocktail!
The food and service were amazing! I ordered the Gado Gado which is my favorite dish. It was excellent. I highly recommend and will come back every time I am in Ashland.

Excellent food, authentic. It was as like I had returned to Indonesia. Exceptional service, lovely atmosphere. I look forward to going back
Dropped in early in the dinner hours, and we were promptly seated. The menu seems streamlined, with excellent Indonesian dishes that one might call classics. The rendang was a surprise for its tenderness and multiple flavors within. The soup was another highlight. Staff was friendly, and the service timely. For downtown Ashland, prices are more than reasonable. Looking forward to trying more dishes soon!
We were planning for just a casual night out and a quick dinner. We were thinking Charm for Thai or Blue Toba and decided to walk down to town to give it a try. It had been on our list and we had heard good things from friends. I had always been drawn to the beautiful interior space as well. What was intended as a casual evening out ended up being almost a sacred dining experience. The interior is so stunning, and the decor really adds to the authenticity of what they're doing with the menu and presentation. The owner was so helpful in educating us about Indonesian food, which I had never tried myself… my partner was more familiar. She helped us understand the very intentional way the chef, her husband, takes in preparing the food for this restaurant every day. Just something as simple as the rice she says is more of a ceremonial style of preparation. That, and all of the food is organic and so many options for a vegetarian like myself. There is so much about this experience that resonated with me, and I felt so nourished by the food, the mellow vibe, the delicious, perfectly seasoned, and prepared food (which also interestingly satisfied my craving for Thai food that night) and the wonderful tea that I had. I felt like I had more of a cultural experience than just a simple meal. You can tell that this dining experience has been carefully created and is driven by pure love
and passion. This is a rare and yet palpable energy, and I am so grateful that it exists here in little Ashland. We are going to recommend this to our friends and guests and will make it a regular dining spot for ourselves throughout the year.
Amazing food and service. Flavors linger in your mouth and you will want more! Good portions and fun to share family style to experience different dishes. Highly recommend!
This place was a great find. Indonesian food isn’t that popular but it should be. Had the pandan drinks and so flavorful and well constructed.
Ordered the ayan Bakar chicken. Delicious dish. Not dry but moist and flavorful. The coconut milk infused with it just added to the dish and the rice was flavorful.
Also had the mie goreng. The noodles came out perfectly cooked and everything just blended together so well with the noodles, vegetables and chicken. The dish is sweet and savory indeed.
Finally we also shared the rendang. Tender beef, great blend of spices and just overall wonderful.
Servers there are great. Family owned and would highly recommend. One of our favorite restaurants in the Ashland/Medford area.
