Menu was ok, food took forever, service was slow, for the price it was just ok.

One of the most charming spots in downtown Ashland. Absolutely beautiful creekside patio, amazing beer & cocktail menu. Superb menu full of fresh and delicious entrees and their shoestring fries are addicting!

The Brickroom was a fail. First impression: a sparkly, cool-vibe place (nice looking bar!). Lasting impression: indifference. After being seated and given water, we waited 45 minutes to no avail to be noticed again. We studied the menu, decided our drinks and food, then waited and waited and waited.
The place was maybe a third full. Servers passed by frequently--busy! Working hard! I appreciated that! Maybe they were understaffed, we commiserated. And yay that one just sort of looked our way! But once we saw other tables that had been seated after us begin receiving their drinks and food, we left. Hungry. Time ticking out at our parking spot.
Happily we ended up at the jam-packed but attentive, friendly, professional Brothers' where delicious coffee and food arrived quickly.

No dice. We understand staffing issues are often beyond the control of restaurant management but at some point, ya gotta acknowledge the customer and apologize. Obviously they were short staffed on a Saturday morning in August. Ashland was packed and rainy so cafes were *busy*. Everyone hustled *hard* here but the place was half full and after a 5 minute wait at the host stand and FORTY minutes after being seated, we had still gotten not one word of acknowledgment from a server. Nothing. I think of us as pretty understanding but ya gotta at least say you’re sorry. We had a 1:30 play & were hungry so we bailed at Noon. 45 minutes of coffeeless salivating was enough. Too bad. The menu looked great, the drinks looked awesome and the decor was very nice. Maybe you’ll catch them on a good day. We didn’t and there are plenty of other choices. We headed to a fully packed Brothers who warmly greeted, quickly seated & served us right away.

Delicious dinner! We sat on the front balcony overlooking Downtown Plaza. If you haven't been before, the entrance is easy to miss. It's set back from the sidewalk, and the restaurant is upstairs.

Was hoping to eat here but not Celiac friendly. Daughter loved her teriyaki sandwich! Great service and atmosphere.

Since the pandemic, I have been making the Brickroom my go-to spot to eat at whenever I’m visiting from out of town. It’s been the place that I see my mom and catch up with her while enjoying a great meal. To this point, my love for the restaurant has been only about food. But today, when my mom, step dad and I were enjoying our meal like usual, my step dad had a medical emergency. When he was feeling like he was going to faint, in the blink of an eye there were 5 employees all working to get him what he needed. On top of getting him ice, water, a chair, anything, they waived our check! I am so thankful to all the employees (that I know of, Jackson, Zahara, Tita and a few others were there, I’m sorry I didn’t get your names!) who did everything they could to both keep the peace in the restaurant and help us out! Before tonight my appreciation for your restaurant only went as far as food, but it now extends to a very personal gratitude that I won’t forget. Thank you so much!

Employees talk loudly about their hate for republicans, Alex Jones and etc. Doesn’t seem like a safe space for people from Medford. They also ruined a lot of fun local music that used to go down at Alex’s. The food was bland. There are much better, and more friendly restaurants in Ashland. Plus the small plates are scammy, small portions

Never staffed up, never friendly, never filling…….
Be aware there are two flights of stairs to get to the dining room. And no elevator. But service and the food was great.

Yikes. Waited 20 minutes for every glass of wine. Sub par food not accurate described. What a disappointment, for 85 dollars for two!

I ate lunch here today and this is now my favorite lunch spot in Ashland. The food and service were outstanding! In particular, the martini that Tyler made for me stands out as among the best I have ever had. It has always amazed me that a drink so simple can be so poorly prepared so often. The Plymouth martini that he prepared was perfect in strength and temperature with a beautifully presented twist of lemon. My Pearyaki sandwich was very good as well. Looking forward to trying other things on the menu and getting a martini any time that Tyler is working.

This was a great place to eat before seeing Into the Woods as part of OSF! They had great mocktails and we loved all the food we got! We also loved our booth seating!
