We had a really lovely and wonderful time! We had initially come to Ashland to go to another sushi restaurant, but they were really busy. I remembered this place and that I'd been before when I was younger, so we walked across town to find this place, which was a very lovely adventure.
It was a bit difficult at first to figure out where exactly the restaurant was located, but it really only made sense to go downstairs, so we did, and we found it!
Upon arriving there was a very short wait for a table. We were sat at the edge of their patio seating, with a gorgeous view of the little creek that runs behind the restaurant. They had some warming overhead heaters nearby, too, which was also lovely. I think we got the best view and table possible, it was extremely romantic and beautiful.
All of the employees we interacted with were kind and sweet, and attentive to us.
We ordered drinks and appetizers to start. I loved the Kobe Drop Cocktail, it had lychee, lemon, and lime notes, with a red grape and a flower! This drink had a very lovely pink-purple-magically-fairy vibe going for it, which is usually my preference when it comes to alcohol.
My partner had a hot jasmine tea, which came with an adorable little cup and tea pot. And it was delightful tea.
Then came the edamame and tempura tofu and vegetables. The edamame was super yummy (though I wouldn't have denied more salt on it, thinking back on it, next time I might add soy sauce on them), but otherwise the edamame was super yummy and fun to eat while have a conversation.
The tempura tofu and vegetables was pretty good too, though I think the broccoli is definitely the star of that plate (as it was WONDERFUL, crunchy and melt in your mouth kind of texture all at once). I think the tofu would be better in this one if it had more favor? But I may be biased for believing marinating my tofu in flavor is the only way to go with cooking it.
After eating our appetizers we had a little break to chat and let those dishes settle. It was pleasant, though, and we were in no rush to end the evening early.
Our server came back by to ask us if we'd like to get started with some sushi, and the answer was yes of course!
I ordered the red dragon, and my partner got a salad and the seasonal pickle plate.
The red dragon was a lovely work of art and sushi, with mango! It was light and beautiful, and I could have eaten so much more of it. The ginger on the side also had a lovely sweet flavor to it, and the wasabi tasted incredibly fresh, it's been a long time since I've had something that spicy and quick to shoot to my nose and eyes.
We enjoyed our meal and then had another small wait for dessert, which was a lovely orange blossom creme brulee ✨
We had a really lovely, wonderful, and romantic time. And we are looking forward to coming again in the future!

We were very pleased with the experience we had last week: The food was fresh, top notch and thoughtfully presented, service was spot on and the ambiance friendly, quiet, and relaxed. Due to a large party seated near us, the noise level was quite high. However, the wait staff graciously moved us another table. Food and service was excellent!

We love this place! They accommodated our unexpected extra guest (we'd made a reservation for 4 but another person joined us. A 5th chair at the end of a table for 4 near the back door worked beautifully without the 5th person feeling left out of the conversation). We ordered one special crudo plate and 4 rolls in addition to the delicious shrimp/veggie tempura. Our hands-down favorite was the salmon tempura roll - although all were great. We are locals and never get tired of dining at Kobe.

Even through small changes and evolutions have occurred, their consistency of quality rolls and quality service because of experienced and dedicated staff allows them to remain on top as one of the best sushi restaurants in the world. We travel globally and know the best but right here in Ashland, Oregon, is the very best.

I’ve been going to Kobe for over 10 years. Nicole has always done an amazing job with the place. Keenan behind the sushi bar is a game changer best sushi I’ve had in years, every roll was amazing. We got the Black dragon, Yakuza Jalapeño, crunchy cheese, and sunshine. Alyssa was our server and she was very professional and sweet, checking on us often and making sure we had everything we needed. 10/10 always for Kobe, love you guys<3

This is my FAVORITE restaurant in Ashland. The cocktails are great I love the gin sakatini and my wife loves the yuzu margaritas. Oyster shooters, beef short ribs and shishito peppers to start. Awesome nigiri and maki fill out the menu with a great selection of sakis.

Quiet, upscale restaurant with a warm and unhurried vibe. Great for special events. Enjoy the Whisky or Sake Flight but be prepared to pay a bit more but you will enjoy yourself.
We are regulars and Kobe never fails to impress. Food is delicious. Staff is excellent and the ambiance is intimate. The consistency over many years is most impressive.
