It I'd hard to find the entrance the restraunt. You either have to go up a flight of stairs or take an elevator. They have a good wine list. Their menu is simple but I wish it had a few more options.

My husband and I go to OR Shakespeare Festival every couple of years and typically try one or two of the top rated Ashland restaurants. This was our first time eating at Loft and it was hands down, the best meal we have ever eaten in Ashland. We aren't sure why we hadn't been here before, maybe because there are just ALOT of restaurants in this town but we will return. The steak tartar was one of the best I've had in a long time. My husband couldn't stop raving about the escargot. The wild mushroom ravioli was perfectly aldente in a light broth that let the taste of the mushrooms shine and the duck breast was rare and super tender. A must do restaurant in my book!

Unfortunate place to spend your anniversary. Spent the first 30 minutes completely ignored and watched two other tables give up and go. We should have followed. The bread was alright, after that though the food was just a cold mess. Like ice cold. Also the wait staff was horrible, ignored you, and just stood around inside the whole time. Please pick somewhere else for a romantic night out.

lovely date night at Loft! we followed Yelp's advice and made a reservation, but luckily we went in the middle of the week so we didn't need one anyways! the service was super fast as well, maybe because of it being a weeknight. the hostess was very accomodating. neither of us drink alcohol, but the non-alcoholic special drinks were super good. we tried the creamsicle, which tasted just like the ice cream, and the rosemary lemonade. our entrees came out quickly and were delicious. we tried the soup of the day, which was a tomato bisque, and both of us loved it. i had the wild mushroom ravioli (after the hostess suggested it over the macaroni as less rich) and my boyfriend had the honey-brined chicken. both were amazing. we skipped out on dessert, since we were stuffed, but the options sounded great. awesome experience, would definitely come here again.

3 or 4 stars....??? Nice quiet restaurant on the second floor with elevator access. Reservations are made by phone not Open Table and it took a while to get a return phone call (would be helpful if their voice message stated when calls would be returned). Lavender limeade (non-alcoholic) was wonderful - hubbie had a club soda with lime. We split a heirloom tomato salad that contained watermelon, blue cheese and spring mix... excellent! For dinner my husband chose a hamburger and I had the sole. The sole/mashed potatoes/spinach with brown butter was a very hardy portion and delicious! Too many capers for my liking so I pushed them to side of plate... My husbands burger was cooked to order and also very good. So why a score of 3.... two reasons...1) it took an hour to get our dinner - we weren't in a rush but the restaurant was not filled. We were sitting inside and only one other couple arrived while we were there and we saw another couple leave. We saw food go outside once. 2) the fries with the burger were plentiful but most pieces were only 1 inch long. When we asked about the fries, we were told that they were fresh cut but tend to break in the freezer. They offered to replace them but the server came back to say there were several orders in front of us (??) and it would take 'a long while'. The server could not estimate the time. My husband said he would wait and 3 minutes later their were new fries. The whole thing seemed silly. They must be using small potatoes as I never had this issue at home.

We always enjoy eating here when we come to town. Chef Jeremy always WOWs us with his divine food. This week we had the wild mushroom raviolis and the white truffle macaroni and cheese. Both were soooo delicious! His mac-n-cheese is probably my most favorite dish in all the world, Heaven in a dish. We were especially lucky to catch a wonderful performance of music/singing on the patio, a group called Giantess. It was so fun and great listening. The service is so thoughtful and attentive, thank you to Jacqueline for the superb wine recommendation. We always make this a must when we come to Ashland, but the music made it extra special, we are trying to arrange our schedule to return next month when the band will be back. Until then, I'll be dreaming of the mac-n-cheese.

Elegant French restaurant with mind blowing food. I had the coq au vin, every bite tasted like it came straight from heaven. Be prepared for slow service, but don't let that stop you from eating here - it's worth the wait.

food was good. did not need to be punished because we did not want to sit outside. some people have valid medical reasons for not wanting an out of doors table. we ended up in dark closed room.

Located upstairs If they ask if you're waiting for a play better say YES if you don't you won't see your food until sunrise. Also, don't bother using the one and only restroom you just might get locked out and have to go home hungry... So, seems like there is a known issue with people getting locked out of the restaurant and it didn't seem like anyone really cared to address the issue. I waited over an hour for a meal and was told after I was allowed to re-enter the restaurant that it was delayed because someone was sick Wow really one person was sick and the entire operation is on a slow cook...

I'm truly torn here. The food was fantastic, the service professional and gracious, the decor and ambiance were delightful. So why the 3-star rating you might ask. One word -- Halibut! So what's the big deal with Halibut? Well, I'm not a chef, but I do consider myself a foodie. And I did learn that a halibut can be prepared one of 2 ways (but not both). Either the whole filet is cut (prepped) for fish and chips (4-5" long pieces with an approximate 1.5" square cross-section), or it's cut as a dinner-sized "steak" (thinner with a larger surface area). Which means that a commitment has to be made by the chef as to how the whole filet will be prepped. A fish and chips piece of fish averages about 3-4 oz. (pre-cooked), and is served as 3-4 pieces on the plate. Which gives the fish and chips dinner an average of 12 oz. of fish total. On the other hand, a typical dinner sized portion of fish (filet or steak) averages around 8 oz. I was served a single piece of fish (at $34 I might add) which had been prepared as a fish and chips cut. It was about 5.5" long with a square 1.5" cross section. I estimate the piece was 4.5 oz. max. Although it was prepared flawlessly, I left the table quite unsatisfied. I view this as a case of bait and switch...

This place is fantastic! Dinned outside with the bucolic harmonies of Ashland Creek providing the incidental background music. The “capital oysters” were the sweetest I've ever tasted, despite their diminutive size. The Bordeaux wine was remarkable, and the subsequent courses were equally distinguished. Highly recommend!
