What a treasure. The white cheddar macaroni and cheese was delicious, as was the fettuccini Alfredo. Requested mushrooms added and they did not disappoint. Flavors were amazing. Probably the best Alfredo I've eaten. Pasta was perfection. Charming, comfortable atmosphere. A new favorite stop when we're in town.

I almost never write reviews, but I just happened to glance at some of these reviews, and was appalled!!! (Perhaps I'm just not accustomed to review culture.) It seems that some people just get off on exercising their "critical" capacities as an ego exercise! They need another hobby. Please don't take the nasty reviews seriously.My family and I are locals, and this is one of our favorite places to eat on birthdays and other occasions. The food is excellent. I grew up in Little Italy in NYC -- Robert Deniro-land -- and I KNOW good Italian food. This is as close as you'll come around here to the real thing. The Marinara sauce tells you what you need to now about an Italian restaurant, and theirs is excellent.The service is friendly and efficient, though sometimes a little rushed when there's just one server, but she's excellent. Admire her hard work, and relax and enjoy your dinner. Oh yes, and its a cozy little upstairs space, with a bar and a little outside deck (for when its warm enough), and a nice view of downtown Ashland.A really good local place, with good people working there.

When I asked the waitress about this, she told us that since one of us ordered garlic bread (4 pieces for a table of 6), she put in the other 3 tables entrees before ours. No apology whatsoever. Then she disappears for 15mins pouting over the completely legitimate question I asked. When it was time for the bill, the woman had the gall to put her gratuity into the bill. Total lack of common sense or customer service. Trash!Food’s good though.

Terrible service! Had reservation for family of 6. Placed our orders. Many people seated after us served much sooner. My son asked waitress why we weren’t being served and she made a lame excuse then left us. She didn’t care. When she brought the bill she said “I forgot to add something.” Returned with our bill and she had added her own tip! So entitled and so undeserving. I’m a very good tipper when it’s deserved, but for the waitress to assume was wrong. Never returning to a restaurant that allows this.

This is our second time going to Macaroni's and we've enjoyed it both times. The first time we were taken by our local friends, for whom it's a favorite. The second time we went on a Sunday night that was not crowded, so it was quiet and romantic in our booth tucked away in the corner. The environment is relaxing with subdued lighting and nice Italian touches. The servers were friendly and helpful. I am both gluten and dairy free and they accommodated me both times, as the food is made to order. For gluten free pasta it's always penne, which was cooked just right. I have had both the seafood fettuccine and the Mediterranean pasta and thought both were excellent. My husband has had the carne calzone and fettuccine Alfredo and loved it. We also shared a green salad. So keep in mind that Macaroni is a moderately priced place serving good food. It's not a Michelin star $$$$ place so if you're looking for that it might seem basic. However, it's just the type of place we like to find most of the time.Dietary restrictions: They gracefully accommodated my gluten and dairy free diet. I have the feeling they could work with various dietary needs.

In July 2023, this restaurant was 5 stars all the way— food was to die for. Sept 2023, nothing tasted okay. The macaroni and cheese side was literally… a bowl of orange water with sad looking macaroni. All of us at the table were shocked. Not sure what happened, but bring back whoever was cooking in July.

Visited this restaurant mid week and it was not busy. They had run out of the specials, so I ordered off the regular menu. The food was just OK, about like Olive Garden. However the service was excellent.If you are looking for a great meal, this place would not be at the top of my list.
