Chris is the best waiter and bartender I’ve ever had. Only going in when he’s here 🖤

We recently had lunch here with some friends. The service and atmosphere were really nice. Unfortunately, the meat was low quality and not prepared to the high Mexican standards we expected. The chicken was super chewy and the pork in the pozole was also overcooked. Other than that it was great!

This place is tucked on the third floor and accessed by an elevator in a breezeway in the building. The atmosphere is great with outdoor seating available overlooking the hills to the east. The food was well prepared and staff were great. I highly recommend finding the elevator to this place.

I had the pork Verde and my husband had the Mariscos Rojo. Our waiter was lovely and very helpful. He checked in on us every once in a while and was very helpful. I was very surprised and happy with the rosé they served. The food was delicious.

Ignored for 20 minutes at a table in the bar. Asked three times if we could buy a drink while we looked at the menu. The place wasn't even very busy, seems like the staff is all stoned or something. We finely just got up and left. I used to love this place when they were at their old location. I wish I could have tried the food! Bartender and wait staff are going to ruin this place.

My quest for out-of-this world Mexican food in Ashland continues. I was hoping Mezcal would be a contender after making its triumphant return following a 3 year hiatus. I never got a chance to try the place the first go-around, so better late than never.

The location has it all. Downtown spot amidst the friendly Ashland bustle. Third floor balcony seats with an amazing view of the valley—unbeatable when the weather is just right. We made reservations outside and it ended up being a gorgeous warm evening with a cool breeze. Drinks came out. I was stoked for a nice meal.

The eats were ultimately lacking. The highlight of the meal was the chorizo queso dip for the chips. Aggressive flavor with diced peppers and seasoned chorizo in each bite. My main was the shrimp enchiladas which I think they forgot to season. Enchiladas tasted like plain tortillas, rice tasted like plain rice, and beans tasted like plain beans. It was missing the spice and flare of a good Mexican joint. The wet burrito was a notch better, so I think there could be some hidden gems on the extensive menu. Although I’ve noticed when a restaurant menu has several pages, it becomes too difficult to execute every option with finesse. 🚩

Overall in my mind the place falls in the “tourist restaurant” category. Probably good for people passing through who want a spot with a great view walking up from the plaza. I think if the restaurant wants to level-up and attract locals, they should simplify the menu to one page and focus on elevating the quality.

I love riding up the elevator! The service is always excellent, but I don’t think it’s consistent as far as the plates go. I had the same exact meal twice and they were totally different. It was the mushroom quesadilla. The first time I had it. It was perfect. The second time I had it. It tasted totally different to me. I love sitting above the plaza more than anything, and if you could sit out on their little patio, it would be perfect but they have a limit on how many people can be out there. I think the bartender and the drinks are fabulous.

Tasty and traditional Mexican food with an artisanal flourish destined to delight your tastebuds. If you like mezcal cocktails, this is definitely the place to go. The bar is stocked with an array of mezcal & tequila. The horchata & hibiscus are made in-house and deliciously refreshing. Love the street tacos, elotes, enchiladas, chile relleno & omg the fajitas!!! Lots of vegetarian options and yummy desserts too. Great service & a fun place to hang!
