I was visiting for an evening and was so excited to check this place out. SO EXCITED. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is my favorite Shakespeare play and I reaaally wanted to go to a themed place after seeing a show at OSF.
We walked in and the front room was so over-crowded we could barely get in. There seemed to be a birthday party going on that was taking the entire space.
We were not greeted, there was no clear protocol (do we seat ourselves? Where’s the menu so we can see what food is offered?) The crowd seemed to be looking at us like we were unwelcome and/or intruding on their fun. People were standing in the walkway and didn’t really want to move when asked.
Every time I tried to go to the bar to inquire about menus and such, I was ignored and stepped in front of.
Basically this place has the weirdest (in a bad way), most unwelcoming, disorganized vibe. We left after several attempts to be served (and had a hell of a time trying to even get out due to the aforementioned overcrowding).
Unfortunately, this experience damn near ruined what was otherwise a great night. Would give zero stars if I could. I cannot adequately communicate my utter disappointment. Do. Better.

Only did a four because no one is perfect! But I’m an out of Towner (cali) this was a vibe. Good music, good food we had appetizers, music was on point and workers were chill and friendly. This is a great spot!!! Do not miss out, this a must spot to at least at minimum have two beers. Perfect spot to sit at if you want to people watch!

Not as Advertised - A Completely Different Experience
If you’re planning to visit this spot based on the website or its previous reputation, be aware that it’s under new ownership and has undergone significant changes. The menu is now very limited, offering just a few basic bar food options instead of the full menu you’d expect. While the drinks are still creative and enjoyable, they’re one of the few remaining elements from the original experience.
The atmosphere has also shifted. The staff seemed distracted and not particularly welcoming, which made us feel a bit overlooked. We waited for quite a while before being acknowledged at the bar.
There was live music, which could have been a great feature, but the performance felt more casual and conversational than engaging. It seemed like the focus was more on chatting with the few other patrons than on creating a lively or inviting environment.
We came hoping to enjoy a full dinner and a memorable night out, but unfortunately, the changes to the menu, service, and overall vibe led us to leave and dine elsewhere.
If you’re looking for a casual drink and don’t mind a limited menu, this might still be worth a visit. However, for those expecting the experience advertised online or the charm of the original establishment, you might want to manage your expectations or consider other options. I hope the new owners take this feedback to heart and work on aligning the current offering with what made this place special in the past.
They allow people to vape inside and smoke in the doorway both of which is against Oregons smoke-free law because it is harmful to otgers. they allow a guy on a large scooter to sit outside of the door completely blocking it It's dark old world dreary atmosphere. They have went through 3 owners in about 6 months. Menu keeps changing and now ALL by QR code so if you don't have a working phone you can't view it. They discriminate and refuse service based on rumors about something that happened elsewhere. Not very good business practices at all Their attitude is qe can violate laws but if we here a rumor about you you're not allowed. I updated this a second time because they got worse much much much worse. I used to like a little of their menu but the last time I went to get something I walked out to get pizza that I did not want at Mertolies across plaza from them. .much better service faster friendlier and more open and brighter atmosphere

Parking: Plenty of parking but all taken during peak hours. However don’t worry just drive to the back and park in the 4 hour Lithia park parking except if there is a parade or something that big then park on B street and walk.

If you have an open heart and mind, sit at the bar at Oberon's for 5 minutes and you will experience THE MOST magical human interactions. This is my go-to place when visiting Ashland. It is without a doubt the BEST place to find people who are kind, compassionate and open to jazzing about the intricasies of humanity. (Please never close! ??) Special shout-out to Jauci (not sure of the spelling but SURE of the human connection) as well as Mark! By far the best bartenders I've experienced in my many travels. I thank you both and I thank Oberon's for remaining an Ashland staple and NECESSITY. ?? The food was amazing and the drinks were delectable! If you're in to Old Fashions...PLEASE come here! ?
