The food has gone down. We used to love it, but not tonight. Won’t go back in a long time if maybe at all. So disappointing :(
Nice Ambiance, Good food , music is too loud the lintel soup taste like its been spiked with sugar. The Food
Quality has gone Down Hill.
The smells drive you wild the second you walk in the door! And the food was phenomenal with delicious organic ingredients I felt blessed with every bite! I definitely recommend it🤠! Though I could use a bit more sauce since Sauce is the name and I’m a saucy kid😜
Don't order To Go! We ordered salads with extra dressing. Got the salads and the extra dressing but none of the dressing the salads come with! And we were charged extra for dressing! This seems to be an issue from other reviews here. The food is good but frustrating to place a order for pick up and not get what was ordered.
This is the third time I’ve tried Sauce and the third time it was awful. I went in because I needed something quick after being called into work and not having time to get dinner, I grab my food to go head to work just to get there and see they just gave me plain naan without the sauce. I called and asked about it the kid working offered to out the cost of the sauce back on my card but I’d paid with cash, so he said “sorry about that not sure what I can do”…which is weird because it zeros like there should be a protocol for what to do in these situations. I asked him if there was someone I could talk to that WOULD know what to do, he gave me the number to come woman who didn’t answer. Again, this is the THIRD time I’ve been to this restaurant in the past year and the THIRD time it was a waste of my time and money, so it feels like it’s also time to make a review about it instead of just ignore it and give the benefit of the doubt.
The best place in town to get a variety of delicious roasted vegetables with crunchy kale chips. Nice sauces but they're a bit stingy on the quantity of sauce provided, especially given that it's their namesake. With the protein add-ons, it gets very pricey. Also note that the menu pricing on their website is very out of date. It lists $14.50 for the Tuscan bowl, but I just paid $20.50.
Fantastic food with great vegetarian and vegan dishes, with gluten free and vegan deserts. There is a little bit of a wait, but the food is worth it.
Terrible service. Placed a takeout order just to wait for 30 minutes and have them tell us they lost our order. Told us to wait another 30 minutes. We find out they never made our order and now the kitchen is closed. Wait another 30 minutes to throw some scrapes together. Didn’t offer any complementary food or price reduction. Please be cautious going here.
Refused to give a refund when the main entrees were missing from our to-go order. EDIT: wish I could give a new 1-star every time this place falls on its face. This time I took home an $18 quart of soup (no longer even in glass!) to my sick partner and it was saltier than sea water. And when I’ve dined in they consistently have the worst service in Ashland.
The vegan options were delicious and healthy. Delivered to our hotel. We had the lentil dal and two different bowls that were both great and I really loved the sautéed kale!

Today: ordered a bowl with tofu. They girl at the counter, Drew, missed on tofu. Now, it's about 40 min since meals were served, and, with 2 reminders, we are still waiting for them to correct the order. Drew keeps telling us that they are still cooking tofu. Looks like she simply can't communicate corrections of the order to the folks in the kitchen. She also has a negative, dismissive attitude. Dinner spoiled.
As a rule, I don’t leave negative reviews, only reviewing when I have something great to share. However, the food and the experience at Sauce were SO bad that I want to save someone the experience of spending an egregious amount of money on inedible food. Spent almost $100 on take out, got it home just to find that most of it was not just bad or so-so but totally inedible. The chicken soup was so terribly overly salty that I couldn’t eat it, even after adding my own broth to try to balance it out. On top of that, the veggies in it were so mushy that they just disintegrate. $20 wasted on soup. The brussel sprouts were dry, shriveled up, grey in color and tasted like chemicals is the best way to describe them. Again, inedible. Another $10(ish) wasted. The ginger coconut butternut squash soup was so extremely sweet (with zero hint of ginger) that it tastes like liquid dessert- awful . I have never in my life driven all the way back to a restaurant that I ordered take from to return it. This was so bad though that I did indeed drive back. The response wasn’t rude but it definitely was not apologetic and nobody made any attempt to make it a better experience. I had to take time to drive all the way back and they made no attempt to convince me to eat there again or NOT to write a bad review so here it is. They wanted to exchange it for another dish or two which I really didn’t want to do seeing as pretty much everything was awful. However, I was frustrated and tired and hungry so I agreed to exchange it for the ginger teriyaki tofu bowl and some kale chips. Got that home and I am now angry that I didn’t just get my money back because the ginger teriyaki tofu …… 100% flavorless! Nothing but plain tofu. Whoopie pie- horrible! Dry with ZERO flavor. Haven't even tried the kale chips yet but I honestly just want to dump them in the trash. $100 down the drain.
I will NEVER eat here again.
The food is excellent but there are some big drawbacks with this place:
1. The service tends to be very slow
2. The food is pricey
3. Forget about trying to order pickup. It’s infuriating. Try to call and they say go online. Go online and you get through the order process and there is no option to order for the time you want! Perhaps it’s because I tried an online order at 7 on a Saturday and they close at 8, but no message - just showing me the next pick up time is Monday.
Also: the times we have been successful getting an order in, they often forget an add on or side.
Unfortunately the owners seem to be a bit lazy or inconsiderate of their diners. Ah well. The food is good if you can get it.
