2025: Still the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Everything is excellent. The curry, the kheer, rice, fries, everything.

2019: Really good Indian cuisine!
There was nothing to complain about. Service was good, food was pretty great, and it wasn't too noisy or crowded. The butter chicken was perfect, basmati rice was flavorful and not over or undercooked, and the Naan was pretty good. Would recommend to anyone craving genuine Indian food. Prices were not bad either. Lunch was served buffet style, all you can eat for around 13-15 a person. Made good use of it =)

Lunch buffet, outstanding food. Everything was fresh and hot we came in around 1pm. Staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive without hovering. No bad choices here.

This is our favorite Ashland restaurant. The food is delicious, the service is always excellent.

Did the buffet. Very limited options, and what they did have was pretty bad. The naan was thin and burnt. Go to Blue Royal’s buffet instead.

Taj is truly a 5 Star experience - some of the Absolute best quality and taste of Indian foods. Worth every penny in my experience over the years. Would describe the experience as rather heavenly. Great service, atmosphere and all around everything. No complaints, though they could use more dessert items on the buffet. Otherwise this buffet will send you right to samsara & service makes you feel right at home.

Best Indian food in the Valley!
We hope they will continue to keep such a high standard of quality.
We love the organic options and the fact that the tandoori has no artificial food dyes.
Super tasty and lovely service always!

I am grateful for the gluten-free options. I wish the gluten-free naan bread was included in the buffet, instead of costing extra. The entire buffet selection is very limited - for $16, there could definitely be more choices.
The staffs' behavior was odd - they stand around watching you eat. Made me slightly uncomfortable.

The buffet lunch was ok. The dishes were fresh and hot with a lot of different selections for veg dishes and condiments. However. The dal and entree selections were not flavorful, the Naan was tough, and the only meat was 3 chicken dishes (I don't eat chicken).
The restaurant itself has a nice setting and a large outdoor patio.
I'd maybe go there again and order off the menu.

We had a wonderful dinner of spicy lamb vindaloo and butter chicken with spicy naan, papadam, pickle, onion bhaji and raita. Stuffed ourselves and had plenty take home for an extra meal. And, on a hot summer evening, the ice cold Taj Mahal and frosted beer glass were perfect!
