We had a lovely dinner at Tlalli! They advertise to be a Latin American restaurant with emphasis on Indigenous ingredients and Afro-Caribbean influences. We started with a few excellent, flavorful cocktails. The rum in the punch took me straight to the Caribbean, with notes of coconut, pineapple, and hibiscus. My favorite cocktail was the Milpa Sour, with use of ancestral corn whiskey where unique lines of corn are cultivated, soaked in an alkaline solution, unlocking deeper flavors....
If I could only give more than 5 stars! The food, the staff, the abundant joy by everyone who steps in this profound fountain of wisdom, tradition and beauty. This is a treasure of a restaurant that sings from the ancestors toward a brighter future. The food and drinks dance on the palate like an Aztec dancer bringing forth profound blessing for the people. I am grateful we get to have this spot in Ashland! ¡Qué tesoro!
Absolutely enthralled with our experience at Tlalli! Still thinking about the complexity and colors in each dish, the energetic, welcoming atmosphere, and the perfect mezcal cocktail that converted me into a mezcal lover. Get yourself a reservation STAT! 😍🩷
