Decided to check out Blaylock's on our last trip to the coast, and was most impressed to find a whisky bar of this caliber in Astoria. While the bottle inventory may not be as large, the overall selection and service is as good or better than any of the whisky bars in PDX, and a lot less pretentious. If you are in Astoria and love good cocktails or rare alcohol, then this is a can't miss stop. The staff is amazingly well-informed about their menu and quite talented at making the various featured drinks. The interior is dark academia meets liquor cabinet of curiosities, with plenty of things to examine and spark conversations. While the seating may be limited, it makes for an intimate experience. Parking is on the street and free, and usually easy to find.
