I just have to say that I had a really good time at this restaurant last night.

The Filet Oscar, Basil Berry Margarita, and the Orange Creme-brule were all delicious.

The highlight for me though was the service.

Joey was my sever and he made me feel like I was a much welcomed guest. He was very timely in checking in on me, had great suggestions for what his recommendations were, and I felt like I was talking to a friend.

I work in a field of developing great customer service skills and I tend to be hyper aware of the service I receive. Joey was fantastic.

There was also a woman named Lidia there as well. Although she wasn't my server, she was also super inviting when I walked in. She also checked in on me and we had a nice chat before I left. These are the type of people to staff and it will keep people coming back.

I don't live nearby, but I definitely will tell friends and family to visit when they come to Astoria.
I look forward to seeing Joey and Lidia when I do.

Thank you so much for this moment while I was far from home.

Looks fancy but the food was a little rougher than expected (eg grit in a very small plain side salad).

I go most Sunday mornings. The staff is friendly and remember my order as though they have eidetic memories. It’s clean, relaxing, the scrambled eggs are soft, fluffy, and never rubbery. It’s like eating at the Four Seasons private cafe.

This place is one of the only places in Astoria that actually feels like fine dining. Food is very well prepared and feels homemade. You can tell there's a real chef in the kitchen here preparing the food. Drinks are very good along with the service. Pricey for sure but with it.

First time at Carruthers this evening and it was perfection! Our server was amazing...hands down best service I've experienced in a very long time. The atmosphere is so lovely and the holiday decorations were beautiful! The food was phenomenal! We had the wagyu burger, airline chicken, firecracker shrimp and linguine with grilled chicken and creamy basil sauce. All of the entrees were so flavorful and tasty. We had the cremini mushroom appetizer and a a few of their signature cocktails...all excellent! Our new favorite restaurant...can't wait to go back!

Love the atmosphere but service at the bar was poor. Took our order for drinks and an appetizer. Twenty minutes later and still no drinks served. Left after the couple that sat down next to us five minutes ago got served their drinks and we don’t even have our glass of wine. Not a place to go before the theater.

We ordered the Dungeness Crab Benedict and could immediately tell it wasn’t Dungeness based on the color and texture. I asked the waiter to check with the kitchen, and he came back saying, “Yeah, Dungeness crab is expensive, so it’s a red crab mix.” I appreciate the clarification, but this is something that should be clearly communicated on the menu. Most people wouldn’t know the difference, and we still paid full price for what was advertised as Dungeness crab. For the cost, I expected transparency and the actual product advertised.

5 stars. Beautifully decorated, great atmosphere, tons of food choices, everything was delicious. Loved learning about the historic and iconic fixtures of this beautiful building. Recommend you go check it out!

Wow!!! I’ve eaten at Carruthers many times. The cocktails are the very definition of craft and the menu is thoughtful . However last night and this morning…they have outdone themselves. My husband and I arrived and sat at the bar as we usually do. The bartender Joey met us with our usual old-fashion cocktail starters. Last night special was a whole lobster which came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. I ordered the lobster and my husband ordered the ribeye from the menu. Per usual the cocktails were amazing but the flavor and the execution on the ribeye was top-tier. The Brussel sprouts which came with the ribeye were stellar. Seasoned to perfection. After dinner we had Cadillac margs for dessert and again, crafted to perfection.

This morning, we decided to try brunch out for the first time and holy hell. This place should be much busier than what it is for brunch. It is absolutely fantastic. The honey, maple pancakes and the hollandaise on the Benedict’s were absolutely fantastic. It was warm and cozy with a candle burning in the background, which set the mood. Thank you so much for a wonderful dinner experience both times!! Oh I almost forgot, the breakfast potatoes were of a new style for me and they were amazing. I hope they never change the preparation of those.

They were recommended as a good place for a fancy meal without being 'fancy.' Our server Robert was very friendly and knowledgeable. Building has history and is interesting.

Carruthers is located in an historic, high-ceiling building, which is definitely worth a visit. Our party of four stopped in for drinks and were impressed by the quality and creativity. Hands down the best craft cocktails I have ever had at a bar/restaurant. Excellent service and relaxing ambiance with great background music. We highly recommend.

The mussels were incredible! I would order it again as my meal instead of as the appetizer every time! The flavor is amazing!!! The Firecracker Shrimp was so tasty! My hubby ate every bite. My daughter had the Pork Shank and was thrilled with it. Hubby had orange crème brûlée. A true delight!!!
Well done!!!!! Clap clap!!!

Carruthers was delightful! My boyfriend got the halibut, and I got the linguine with vegetables in lieu of chicken. We both wiped our plates clean! The drinks and service were also impeccable! Thanks so much!

So much fun in this little bit of downtown Astoria history. The food was wonderful and the specialty drinks are recommended. My favorite was the seafood chowder and the orange infused creme brullee. Our waiter not only served us with smile but also made our libations, highly recommend. The best food we had this week!
