Excellent!! What a foodie treat. I wish I lived closer so I could enjoy more meals as their menu changes. Everything was presented perfectly and tasted delicious. I’d give you food details, but the menu has probably changed as you read this simple review.
Make a reservation. People were turned away on a Tuesday night.

We just had a date night dinner here, the menu and service was very good, I recommend highly Daphne, good service, our server and the chef were engaged and welcoming. A great addition to fine dining options on the north coast.

We had a really good meal here in a Saturday evening.
The place is clean and interesting and comfortable.
The service was very friendly and prompt. Our server was fun and attentive without hovering. We asked for a wine recommendation and he nailed it with a nice Tempranillo.
My wife had the king salmon, and I had the pork loin. But honestly the star of the night was the fresh baked hot bread!
My pork was cooked absolutely perfectly. Moist and tender, not dried out or raw inside like so many places do it. It was served in a bed of a kind cooked cabbage, that by itself was also good but I found the flavors didn’t blend well. So I ended up eating the pork off a separate plate to avoid crossover. This is a very minor complaint.
My wife’s salmon was also perfectly cooked, with the skin being nice and crispy without being burnt. Nice job! The portion was a bit small though for the price.
But the bread… order it!

What an incredible, awesome, delicious, and fun evening! My wife and I enjoyed a tasting menu with wine pairings this past week and were completely blown away. Our server, the manager, as well as the chef, guided us through an array of delicate and wonderfully subtle flavors of the Pacific Northwest. Fresh farm/ship to table offerings were highlighted in every dish, including smoked salmon, clams, duck (two ways), and blueberries. Each dish was comprised of only a handful of ingredients, and each of those layered for delicious effect. A special call-out on the cauliflower cream with soft egg yolk and brown butter, wow. We also noted small & large plates sent to other tables around us that were just as beautiful and exquisitely prepared as ours. For those who enjoy a fresh, rotating menu featuring seasonal ingredients prepared by an incredibly talented culinary staff (with special nod to the owner/chef and his saucier talents), look no further. It obvious both owners are dedicated to their craft, their restaurant, their staff, and to making sure their guests receive a truly memorable experience. Though our trip to Oregon/Astoria from Kansas City may not get repeated anytime soon, we will most definitely keep Daphne in mind, monitor the internet for their continued success, and look for any opportunities to enjoy their offerings again.

I’d like to give atmosphere 4 stars, but they let me pick my table, so I can’t complain (too close to the bathrooms and dark due to room divider). The apricot, peach and cheese small plate was amazing - perfectly ripe fruit, so creamy delicious cheese, and the greens were the perfect contrast to the sweet fruit. The croquets were smooth on the inside and crisp on the outside - Very mild fish. The star of our meal was the sable fish. 10 out of 10 for sure. Perfectly cooked with a seasoned crispy skin and moist, buttery, tender meat. The chicken in with a mushroom wine sauce was just behind the fish in deliciousness. It was also perfectly cooked and seasoned - excellent choice of wine for the sauce. The meal was worth every penny.

A Must-Visit Gem in Astoria!
Our first time at Daphne and it instantly became one of our favorite dining experiences ever. Every bite was spectacular — the pork was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the potatoes were perfection, and the fish was some of the best we’ve had, fresh and bursting with flavor.
And the desserts? Absolutely sublime. Do not miss the cherry upside-down cake with miso ice cream — it’s next-level delicious and worth the visit alone.
If you’re coming to Astoria, you must stop here or you’ll miss an essential restaurant in this wonderful town by the river. Daphne is a beautiful reminder of how amazing food and hospitality can make you fall in love with a place even more.

Daphne is an absolute gem in Astoria. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and every dish felt thoughtful and beautifully made. I had the chicken with morels and potatoes—it was rich, perfectly cooked, and honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. You can really taste the care in the ingredients and execution. Perfect spot for a cozy dinner or a special night out. We’ll definitely be back!

Whimsical, Elegant — and Unforgettable
Dined at Daphne for their tasting menu and was absolutely blown away — especially by one pairing that I can’t stop thinking about. The 2022 Lemelson Chardonnay was served alongside a duck confit pie with blueberry mostarda, and the combination was nothing short of magical.
The wine had a delicate, almost cotton candy-like note that caught me by surprise in the best way — soft, airy, and nostalgic, yet refined. Its bright acidity and silky texture cut beautifully through the richness of the duck, while the subtle sweetness in both the wine and the blueberry mostarda echoed each other perfectly. It was a standout moment in a menu full of brilliance.
Daphne’s ability to balance whimsy with sophistication is what sets them apart. Every course was thoughtful, but that Chardonnay pairing will live rent-free in my head for a long time. Highly recommend booking the tasting — and crossing your fingers that this dish makes an appearance.

Service was 1st class - I failed to remember our servers name but she was attentive, competent and kind. Green Onion soup? OMG - arguably my favorite bowl of soup in my life (63 years). I had the salmon and wife had the pork. So, so good. Food was obviously excellent and venue very nice. We're staying in a neighboring city while vacationing on the Oregon Coast. If I lived in Astoria, I'd be a regular.

I can’t express just how good the food was. We eat at a lot of restaurants and this is the best we have tried. Heading back again this week for more. I had the chicken and my girlfriend had the salmon. They were both incredible. A+++

Eating at daphne is a formative experience. If it was more socially acceptable in a fine dining environment I would lick the plate clean like a dog
