This wasn’t our first-choice restaurant, but it absolutely should have been. I was initially set up for disappointment when the dish I wanted wasn’t available, but our waitress immediately tried to make it work in a slightly different way. Then the owner stepped in, was refreshingly honest, and said he couldn’t let me eat it that way, so he recommended another dish instead. I’ve been dreaming about it ever since.
The vibe was exactly what I wanted, the wine was spectacular, the prices were perfect, but it was truly the owner and our waitress who made the experience unforgettable. This place is officially a staple for every Astoria trip from now on.

Such a generous place in both food portions and service. I can't remember the last time I had Italian food this good and I'm vegetarian now. Plenty of options as well. Highly recommend the wine flight, it's a great way to try a few different options. Didn't save room for dessert but I can't wait to go back!

Fulio’s was hands-down the best choice we made for our New Year’s Eve dinner. The food was outstanding—fresh and flavorful, the best Tiramisu we had in a really long time. The atmosphere was warm and festive, perfect for the occasion. I’d definitely recommend making a reservation.

I wanted to take the time to share my recent experience at Fulio’s. I’ve dined there a few times in the past and genuinely enjoyed both the food and the service. The first time I came was actually because Silver Salmon was closed, and I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed it enough that I returned again and brought others with me because I spoke so highly of it.

That’s why my most recent visit, which was meant to be my birthday dinner, was extremely disappointing.

When I called to make a reservation and mentioned that we were hoping to arrive within about 45 minutes to an hour, the woman on the phone laughed and said something along the lines of, “Yeah, no — we won’t have anything until 7:30 or 8.” The tone was rude and unprofessional and immediately set a negative tone for the evening.

We arrived about 30 minutes early and politely let the hostess know we were early and were happy to wait. I couldn’t help but notice that only three or four tables were occupied while the rest of the restaurant was empty. Despite this, I was told we *might* be seated but that no one would help us because they were “too busy.” This was repeated even after we were seated, which felt unnecessary and uncomfortable given the visible availability in the dining room.

At that point, I was honestly disappointed and embarrassed. The repeated comments felt rude and unprofessional, and I seriously considered leaving. However, because we were already seated and were a party of seven, I felt uncomfortable doing so.

When our server arrived, while she was polite at times, she initially came across as condescending and visibly annoyed. Her body language made it clear that we were an inconvenience. English is our second language, and when we had difficulty pronouncing certain menu items, the corrections were constant and uncomfortable. Items brought to the table were either handed to me to pass around or placed down abruptly; they were never properly placed on the table. At one point, I even apologized for mispronouncing an item because her demeanor made me feel embarrassed.

Toward the end of the meal, the server’s attitude noticeably improved. However, it honestly felt like this change occurred only because the meal was ending and she was aware that tips are often based on service. Despite the overall poor experience, I still tipped.

When the food arrived, my chicken was extremely tough and difficult to cut, and one plate ordered medium rare was fully cooked. I did not complain or send anything back. We ate what we could and left.

I would also like to add that I work in customer service myself, and I rarely complain because I understand that everyone can have bad days. That said, the two staff members we primarily interacted with made the experience uncomfortable from start to finish. The only genuinely kind and welcoming staff member we encountered was a woman wearing a red dress.

Throughout the entire visit, the restaurant’s occupancy did not increase the same three two-person tables remained occupied which made the repeated comments about being “too busy” even more frustrating.

Every moment I was there, I regretted choosing Fulio’s over Silver Salmon for such an important occasion. The experience was unpleasant and left me feeling like an annoyance.

I’m sharing this because I was truly disappointed, especially given how much I had enjoyed Fulio’s in the past.

We’ve been here twice now + have been happy each time. I’d highly suggest the Calamari Saute, Squash Ravioli, + Chicken Marsala.

The calamari is the best executed calamari I’ve had in a while + it was consistently good across a two month gap in visits.

Walked into the place empty and the hostess asked if we had reservations. Every table was empty. She then asked us if we were willing to sit in the bar. I asked if the tables were full and she said no. What a joke. If you treat customers who walk in the door like this I’m not sure how long you will be in business. We ate at Carruther’s which was exquisite. My recommendation, go somewhere you get treated with gratitude and respect, not this place. Very disappointed.

Fulio's had a nice variety of options, the prices weren't outrageous, and the service was great. Would recommend.

Stayed in town for a night and this was an excellent choice for us. Great wine, great food, loved the quiet ambiance.

Only issue for me was the Alfredo Salmon I ordered. It was described as Alfredo over salmon, and not in the menu's pasta section. Turns out the dish was 90% pasta with barely 2 oz of salmon. Very disappointing.

My Family and I visited Fulio's last week. I have been to the restaurant twice, but not for about 20 years. I had hyped it up to the family, and once again, the great food, service, and the drinks were as incredible as I remembered. My family totally agreed! Fulio's is the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to, and I'm already looking forward to another trip to Astoria for an incredible dining experience!

Good place for Italian food and wine. The chef mage a vegan pasta marinara for me. It was delicious. Service is old world charm and will go back next time I'm in Astoria.
