Absolutely amazing and food was fresh and delicious !! Kind of hard to get parking spot near it due to its location but big parking lot one block away if no parking up front or on side .. but will eat there again when we go back to Astoria !

We were seated, given water and menus, then nobody spoke to us, checked on us, or anything for at least 40 minutes. We waited patiently (as it was somewhat busy), tried politely getting staff attention multiple times, and slowly finished our waters. We watched multiple other tables be cleaned, sat, and have their drinks ordered and brought out. At that point we decided to leave, and were only noticed by staff as we were walking out the door. Will try again, as the food looked great, and I really hope this was a one off experience.

I've come in to Tora for the last three years and have ordered the same thing every time. My magura sashimi has always come out prepared exactly as it should, fresh and raw, no searing. Tonight it came out seared and I sent it back, which I rarely do. The two servers behind the bar argued with me that I ordered the wrong item and that it was always served seared. At first I offered to pay for it and ordered what I intended. After arguing that I was incorrect continued, I decided to pay my bill, plus a 20% tip, and find a new sushi place to visit. What a disappointment to have been treated this way. I'm not sure I'll be back again.

I hope I'm the exception because it was a slow lunch hour on a Sunday, while the farmers market was right outside.
The place smelt like urine, the tables and chairs had that weird sticky wood feel, as if they'd been slightly brushed by the same Lysol infected rag for years. In-between the cracks of the seats, you can see grime, grease, and food bits building up. The chicken terriaki bowl had a slight flavoring of fish, as though they had thrown frozen chicken on the same skillet as they fried some tuna. The teriyaki sauce had NO flavor. Kroger Brand sauce has more flavors, it's like it was watered down. They put mashed potatoes in the teriyaki bowl and in my daughter's Bento box. I've never seen a Sushi restaurant serve mashed potatoes.
I used the restroom. It was a mistake to claim the restaurant smelled like urine, because the bathroom was quite the assault on my senses. Public restrooms on the waterfront are more kept.
The waitress was really pleasant and attentive. She even grabbed the lunch special board for another patron and brought it over to show all the options.
My kid said the California rolls were good.

We've been here dozens of times and love it. Consistent quality. Great sushi for the price range. Popular spot but service is still pretty quick.
Unattentive server, our 1st appetizer dish came 30 mins after ordering. We have 4 people in our party but server get us only 3 set of tableware. If you have any other choice please kindly choose other place.
