Sushi quality is poor, especially the rice (the soul of sushi)!!!

So hopefully this was just a bad night for them or something but service was really bad, food was okay, atmosphere decent and price too high.

We came in on a Tuesday at around 5:30 and the place was completely empty. Nice atmosphere with the personal seating areas that you take your shoes off for, but that’s the extent of pleasantries for our experience.

It was around 30 minutes after putting in our order when we finally had to ask when our order was coming. I get it if this was a busy restaurant but we were the only ones in there, either way they said one minute and it was 15 more minutes, I could have made our order in 45 minutes for goodness sake.

So after the 45 minute wait, the sushi finally came. Premium price for subpar sushi, not bad but not great. The octopus was waterlogged where it wasn’t frozen for instance.

Fresh rolls, dining area offers variety of seating options much like you will find in a Japanese restaurant. Did not realize that they charge for ginger :( , even though there were two 2️⃣ pieces for two orders. Other restaurants have this as part of the meal.

Banya is a lovely little Japanese restaurant. The Atmosphere is spectacular and feels similar to the kind of small family run restaurants commonplace across Japan. The seating has a choice between Western table seating or Japanese style booth seating. The food was beautifully arranged and wonderfully delicious. The only drawback was that the sushi did take some time to prepare (appetizers come super fast though. So, order some yakitori and/or miso soup and you'll be fine!) I'll definitely be returning in the not so distant future.

Rude staff and extremely long wait times for a small order. It took over an hour for four rolls with only two other seated tables in the restaurant

Such a hidden gem! Tucked into a little strip mall is the most unexpected sushi. Great service, super fresh fish - their salmon is a standout. Miso soup is fresh and not too salty. Amazing chirashi!

The food was good but it took a really long time for servers to take our order.

Dietary restrictions: They had little to know information on gluten free items. I would avoid this restaurant if you have celiac.

Alright restaurant, food could be better. Service could be improved and not all that authentic. I would eat somewhere else

Can't speak about food quality but as a Platium Status Delivery Driver this place is a nightmare to do orders from. Exterme wait times, not worth your time!! Do not accept offers from this restaurant!! But if you happen to accidently take one expect the address on Google maps to be incorrect and route you somewhere else and staff not to care about the incorrect address and then after that, you get to wait for upwards for 15 minutes! I had to wait 30 minutes just before I could get my customers food. Had a friend that ate here and apparently low quality food but nonetheless, this might just be a restaurant to avoid whether you're a Delivery Driver or not.

They took way to long to server me my food, and I thought oh maybe it’s quality over quantity NOPE! I didn’t know they could mess up their regular sushi! The rice was under cooked, and it was all mushy.. I also got a chicken katsu the chicken was dry and bland! No seasoning at all!

Banya is out regular go to restaurant for sushi and sashimi dinners. Their sushi combos are very good quality and reasonable price for the quantity too. They are great both for to go and dinner in. The staff is quite friendly.

Best Japanese food I have had outside of Japan. The food, service, and atmosphere were perfect. I felt like I was back in Tokyo.
