Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. The nigiri had very generous cuts of fish and was served at just the right temperature. We were tempted to eat only sushi but we also wanted to try some kitchen dishes and we're glad we did. The miso soup, gyoza, and yakitori were also fabulous!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I was floored by how great of an experience I had at this cute little Japanese restaurant. The sushi was so fresh, made with utmost care, fairly priced, and the service was excellent. The salmon nigiri was some of the most generously portioned I've ever seen on top of being the most delicious melt-in-your mouth salmon meat I've ever tasted. This cute little restaurant will now be a frequent place I go to and will take any visitors I have come to town.

Very Authentic. Super nice and appreciative waiter. Hard working gal. Food is super fresh and deliciously flavorful. The Chef that made my seared salmón killed the presentation and the taste was phenomenal. I'd give it 10 stars if I could

Delicious. Our kids had the chicken katsu which was crispy and awesome. We had the chef's choice sushi and it was all excellent. Loved the traditional section option which was also fun for the kids. Will return.

Banya in Beaverton is seriously such a hidden gem. From the moment I walked in, I could feel the cozy, family owned vibe. It’s tucked away in a little strip mall, but don’t let that fool you the quality here is top-tier.
The sushi was so fresh like melt in your mouth kind of fresh. I tried a few rolls (highly recommend the philly roll and the scallop roll) and they were beautifully presented and super flavorful. You can really taste the care that goes into every dish.
What I loved too was the variety, whether you’re a sushi lover or more into cooked dishes, they’ve got you covered. Their rice bowls boxes and ramen were bomb. The service was also warm and welcoming, and everything came out at a good pace.
Overall, I’m really impressed with this spot. The quality, the portions, the price, it all just hits right. Definitely a new go to for sushi nights in Beaverton.

Love this place! Been going for 20 years! My daughters grew up eating here when they were little. Very fond memories. They remind me to this day that I made them eat chicken hearts. Don’t think they’ve had them since! lol!

This place was very good. The food was delicious, and the server/management/cooks were all very kind and sweet. It had a good atmosphere, and the food came out in a very timely manner. Definitely coming back! And definitely would recommend. The sushi was especially delicious

We really enjoyed ourselves at this cozy, friendly, and authentic Japanese restaurant.
They passed the first test... miso soup that was not salty ++! My green tea was perfect, as was the sake.
The sushi was fresh and tasty. I had my usual spicy tuna handroll, and a rainbow roll. The tuna and salmon were of excellent quality.
The music was authentic and kind of made you think you stumbled into a mom and pop operation somewhere in Osaka.
All-in-all, after trying six or seven sushi/Japanese restaurants in the Portland/Beaverton area, we now have our ho to!
If you're lucky, you can get one of the coveted booths with the sunken floor table. But be prepared to be shoeless.

Cute decor and friendly staff but the fish was not at all fresh and the quality of the rolls was really lacking for the price. I wouldn’t come back again.
