The portions are small for the prices. Alcapurrias are half the size so 2 small make 1 regular one at $9, 4 sorullitos are $5. That's 1.25 each! Even breaded steak is small for $29. Pasteles are wrapped in aluminum not banana leaves. No cola champagne or malta, etc. It's best to make it at home.
This was our first time trying Puerto Rican food, and Boriken Restaurant absolutely blew us away!
We started with the empanadillas de pollo, which were fantastic. The pastry was perfectly fried and crispy, and the chicken filling was perfectly seasoned.
For entrées, I had the pork mofongo, and it was incredible. The plantains were seasoned so well that I could’ve eaten them on their own, and the pork was tender, juicy, and full of flavor....

This was probably my first puerto rican restaurant. I really liked the food, went back a few more times.
