we have been looking for very good Mexican food and not having any luck other than Mestizo. We almost gave up after many fails. We have driven by this place and didn't even know this is where we were going to try next. The best burrito so far in PDX! The only thing we want for the next one is cheese included... I figured that was automatic but I guess not. The burritos were packed full of everything and heavy!! Not gigantic but very good size and fully round like a cylinder, like they should be, a hand held burrito. We tried chicken and asada and they were great, lots of flavor and no fatty pieces. They got my order wrong and were quick to make it right and replace the wrong item. We will be back.

El Jefe Mexican Grill (Beaverton) has some of the greatest grilled chicken I have ever tasted. I usually get the whole chicken meal, which feeds four people perfectly, Price between $24 to $25). The meal comes with sauces, rice, beans, and tortillas. If you're going to feed more than four people, I recommend getting the XL Whole Chicken meal.

The quesa birria taco is THE BEST TACO I HAVE EVER HAD. Ever. Their salsa is awesome, love thafficionado. Tacos comes with two types of onions, radishes and a grilled jalapeño which I love. This really is a mandatory stop for taco afficinados.

Don't come here for the birria. There are better places, everything else is amazing.

Absolutely amazing! This is the best food I've found in quite a long time. Having lived in California and traveled frequently in Mexico, this is the best Mexican chicken I've ever had. This place is the same concept as El Pollo Loco, a California chain with build-your-own chicken tacos, but way better. You get all of the fixings for a full dinner for $24 (whole chicken, tortillas, beans, rice, and salsa), every one of which were so incredibly good. We were immediately handed the food, no wait. Don't sleep on this unassuming food cart, it's one of a kind!

El Jefe Mexican Grill in Beaverton is not just a revelation in Mexican cuisine; it's a culinary landmark that transcends expectations. Every visit to this vibrant eatery is an adventure, an opportunity to indulge in dishes that are crafted with an unmatched level of passion and authenticity. Among its many mouthwatering offerings, the BBQ chicken stands out as a masterpiece, a dish so perfectly executed that it has rightfully earned the title of the best BBQ chicken in town. The magic of El Jefe's BBQ chicken lies in its meticulous preparation. The chicken is marinated in a blend of traditional spices and herbs, ensuring every fiber of the meat is infused with flavor. Then, it's grilled to perfection, achieving a succulent inside with a beautifully charred exterior that locks in all the juicy goodness. The result is a dish that balances smokiness with the rich, complex flavors of Mexican cuisine, setting a new standard for BBQ chicken. When compared to other dining options in the area, like El Pollo Loco, El Jefe distinguishes itself not only through its exceptional taste but also through its commitment to quality and authenticity. It’s the attention to detail, the vibrant flavors, and the freshness of the ingredients that elevate El Jefe above the rest, making it the unrivaled choice for those in pursuit of the best Mexican cuisine. Moreover, the value for money at El Jefe Mexican Grill is unparalleled. The generous portions of BBQ chicken, alongside their array of delectable dishes, ensure that patrons leave with both their appetites and wallets satisfied. It's this combination of excellence and value that makes El Jefe a treasure within Beaverton's dining scene. In conclusion, El Jefe Mexican Grill is more than just a restaurant; it's a celebration of the rich tapestry of Mexican cuisine, brought to life with every dish served. The BBQ chicken, in particular, is a shining example of El Jefe's dedication to culinary excellence, making it not just the best BBQ chicken in town but a memorable highlight of the Mexican culinary experience. Whether you're a local or just passing through, missing out on El Jefe would mean missing out on a cornerstone of Beaverton's gastronomic delights.Kid-friendliness: Great customer service.

Tacowise this place is overrated.I had two of the street tacos, one lounge and one chicken, they were both 80% ornaments and 20% dry flavorless meat.If you like onions and cilantro, then these would be the tacos for you, but the tortillas were so flimsy you couldn't even get the veggie tacos to your mouth.I thought it was more of a chicken place so maybe the whole chicken is what makes this place famous, but the tacos are not worth the money. Go to Ricos or Tacotime both on Allen instead if your looking for tacos

I'll have to be honest, I'm updating my review because I believe this place is one of the best Mexican food trucks in Hillsboro/Beaverton area. So what that they get their orders mixed up sometimes, as much I wanted to be mad there were couple times I did enjoy the order I didn't place. It was till good

Love this place, reminds me of pollo loco back in the 80's in LA when it was great. If I want chicken that reminds me of back home it's going to be this place. Great deal on a whole chicken meal with 4 sides, tortillas and salsa. It can easy feed 5 people. Great tasting chicken to dine in or take home. El Jefe does an excellent job packaging your food when taking food to go. We picked the following meal. Whole chicken split. 4 sides. Two rice, one pinto bean and chips and guacamole. Your choice of two salsas from pico, medium and hot. El jefe also sends you home with great thick tortillas to roll up your chicken for tacos. I know it's a lot of food but El Jefe also has smaller meals choices. I also decided to split a 4 Quesabirrias Y Consome. The consome is the juice of the gods, excellent job El Jefe. When I have family in town I'm pickup food from el jefe. Great tasting food, service and price.

Moved to Beaverton from LA, worried I'd have to say goodbye to top-notch Mexican food. Thankfully, I stumbled upon El Jefe, and it was a game-changer. This food truck is a hidden gem. Everything I've tried has been spot-on--authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and those hot sauces are something else! Great variety, from tacos to burritos, all delicious. El Jefe made Beaverton feel like home. Highly recommend to anyone missing genuine Mexican cuisine. It's not just good, it's a standout in the area.
