Normally I would of given here a 5 Star rating as the food has always been good and plentiful. Today however, it didn't taste as fresh and it seemed like the amount of food was smaller. My wife got the Gyro Plate and she came out of it saying that she wasn't satisfied and was shocked on how little of the meat there was and that the salad was pretty small with not much Taziki versus the previous times she has had it.

For me, I decided to try the Kabob Sandwich, while the meat was fine I also noticed a lesser amount of Taziki than previous times when I had gotten the gyro. I additionally got an order of the garlic fries. While the quantity did not seem bad the potatoes were surprisingly not seeming as fresh and came across as being older.

Overall it didn't feel worth the money we paid this time. The employees were great and the restaurant was good, it was just the food for us this time.

I need to be extremely clear in that my rating of the food is 5 out of 5. My wife and I are from NYC and I want to believe we know what a good gyro is... this is one of the best I have ever had (and easily the best in OR). Their service used to also be a 5 out of 5 as they had the a hostess with the absolute best customer service skills I've probably ever seen in a place that can get quite busy at times for anyone working the front desk - I believe she still works here but not on Saturdays any longer when we usually go.

Unfortunately, one of the other staff/members who does work there is one of the worst hostesses I have ever encountered - ever. She works at a snail's pace (made only worse by how excellent the other hostess manages everything), will leave you waiting without saying a word to you for minutes, and when you are eventually "greeted" it is with a miserable attitude that makes you want to consider walking out... this is not an exaggeration. When you go from the best service to the worst, you can't help but wonder if the business no longer cares about good service. I am hoping this is read by that all-star hostess and something can be done about this, because the new hostess who works on Saturdays will easily ruin this place for many customers.

Very delicious dishes. Love their pita bread. Great service, as well as their fries are excellent too. Will come back to try their other dishes.

Waited almost 30 mins for a gyro and small fry. About 6 people walked in after me (all seemingly knowing the worker at the register) and as a result were all served before me. No one informed me of the delay on my order, and the same worker at the register only mumbled a “thanks for your patience” when she dumped my order off at my table. For a place called gyro to go i wouldn’t think 30 mins is an acceptable time to make someone wait especially considering the choice to take care of your friends first. Food also was nothing special. Gyro meat was insanely greasy compared to pretty much any other place you can grab it in Portland. I had to soak up the excess off my bread so it didn’t fall apart from the oil.

TLDR: unless you’ve known whoever is at the register since birth or don’t care to blow your whole lunch break on a “to go” order, this place is a skip.

We got a beef/lamb gyro and a chicken shawarma with some spicy garlic fries. Overall the gyro and shawarma sandwiches needed some salt or a bit more acid but they were cooked well. The spicy garlic fries were pretty good, the spicy garlic sauce they use is good.
