tldr: Crazy good Hawaiian comfort food from a trending food cart Discovering Habu's food cart was a complete spur of the moment: decided to grab lunch at a local food cart congregation and ended up finding one of my favorite local go-to spots for some meat and rice. The picture is pretty self explanatory already but all you gotta know is that the smoked meats are irresistible. Better watch out or you end up eating the loaded plate they serve you. Owner of the food cart is super easy to talk to and you can tell he cares about the food he serves. He wants you to simply have a great time and to leave stuffed and satisfied. Give them a try when you need some quick eats that's heavy enough to save another meal for later.

This food trick has delicious Hawaiian food! We had the smoked spicy meat and the Kalua pig and both were succulent and delicious. The rice was sticky and yummy and the macaroni salad was great! I just wish they had some veggies for those of us who enjoy a well-rounded, healthy meal.

Minion was helping me run errands around 2pm on Saturday. Meds etc. for our child. Minion: D'you want lunch? what do you want? I will buy. Me: (Names Favorite --'s) teriyaki chicken or ( favorite ----'s) Hawaiian? Minion: Hmm. Too salty. It is bad for us, we are old. Me: (Summarily whips out yelp). Smoked meat plates from a food truck? ( shows kahlua pork photo bc Minion likes kahlua pig). Minion: Ok. Me:( theyre gonna be salty too duh but) ok. This food truck is hidden off TV Highway in the back of Walgreens on the west side. Parking and access are fine. There are outdoor tables. Minion said the man was friendly. Lunch was about $28. Took them 10-15 min to get it ready on the grill so it's made to order. Nice. Half an hour later we were in Minion's air conditioned family room digging into lunch while streaming episode 1of One Piece ( um, not my thing). The food was good. There was surprisingly more rice buried under the proteins. It was a good amount of food. I liked the mac salad, as someone else noted it was grainy. It might have parmesan in it maybe? I have no idea if the " meat" was beef or pork or...?? But it was good. The chicken was delicious too. There was a cup of a sweet soy type sauce. And it was not too salty. I had a bite of Minion's kahlua pig and it was tender and smoky. Overall , it was a win! Give it a try. (* Saw no vegan or veggie options but there is an Indian food truck right next door).

Just check this place out tonight! Food was delicious and owner was super nice. We had the chicken and spicy chicken. Owner gave us a sample of the pork and we will definitely have that next time. Sorry Roxy's we have a new place we will be going to from here on out!

Update on 7/5/23This time they got my order correctly which is a good thing. I finally got to try their spicy chicken. It was just okay. It was dark meat so it was tender but it lacks flavor and spiciness. The pork and smoke meat was good. The pork was probably my favorite. I only wish they gave me some sauce for the pork. It was kind of dry. But I do love the serving size!
So incredibly good. We stopped here on a whim and have no regrets. We got the spicy smoked meat and spicy chicken. The chicken was so tender and the smoked meat is was so good. Highly recommend!! We will be coming back.

We got a healthy portion of Kula pig, and original smoked meat with a side of rice and Mac salad. It tasted so amazing, I couldn't decide which meat I liked the most. I usually prefer Kula pig at most restaurants. We came at the end of the evening and it wasn't an issue. They had almost all of their selections available. They were so kind and thanked us for coming out. We will definitely be return customers. It was so yummm!Kid-friendliness: It is located in a pod that is fenced and seems safer for accommodating families wishing to visit food trucks than an open parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of parking close to the entrance of the pod area. I don't know what that 1 star review lady is talking about! This is some of the best smoked meat I've ever had in my life! I smoke salmon and meat all the time for bbq's and Habu Smoke Cart has me beat! And the chicken? OMG! Flavor galore! I could eat his chicken until I turned into a chicken! And the Kalua pork is really darn good! My wife asks just for that every time! Habu is also one of coolest guy's you'll ever know. Not only a "from the ground up" small business owner but a type of guy that'll give you his shirt right off his back! It's refreshing to do business with that type of person! Someone who is super passionate about his food and also passionate about being your friend at the same time! Go to Habu smoke cart!
