Had the Khao Soi and could immediately see why so many people come here for it — perfectly balanced flavors with just the right amount of spice. The portions were generous too! I also tried the Spicy Mango Margarita and loved it — especially the little detail of the straw paper folded into a flower on top, such a cute touch. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, making it a great spot to enjoy a good meal. Highly recommend!

Pad Thai was fine, yellow curry was terrible. Not sure what was wrong but it was nothing like yellow curry I’ve had before.

My favorite Thai in Oregon. Food is great and affordable. The service is great - they know everyone’s order in the neighborhood. A real gem in area - great for family dinners or a casual date. Great beers on tap as well and vegan and vegetarian options. Highly recommended. Also have EXCELLENT and unique desserts!!

This is the best Thai restaurant in Oregon by far 👍. Amazing foods and service 👍👍👍. Always politely ask the server to prep your foods like for Thai peoples, that way your foods won’t be as sweet. I love my foods as authentic as possible 👍👍👍 and Kao Yia restaurant definitely delivers. Thanks for the amazing foods and services 👍👍👍

I decided to give this place a try because I wanted thai food. When we walked in, there was plenty of seating and we were told to sit anywhere we liked. We were only a party of 2 people so we sat at a 2 person table. We placed our order, and shortly after getting our appetizer, we were asked to move tables so they could combine our table and the 4-person table to accomodate a large party. I was annoyed but politely moved. Then my dinner arrived and it was the wrong thing which turned out to be for another guest. Then my dinner came out again and it was made wrong. To their credit they remade it and it was really good but by then the whole experience made me feel bad. I just wanted to get out of there.

It's such a small restaurant that larger parties should have to make reservations and other paying customers should not have to be asked to move.

Some of the best Thai food you’ll have, my favorite is the crispy basil chicken and crab fried rice. I also tried miang kham for the first time here and it was amazing, delicious and refreshing. Staff is extremely nice whether dining in or taking out you’ll have a great experience.

So good!! We've tried so many other Thai restaurants west of the river, and they all were a let-down (bland flavors, small portions, ridiculous prices).

This place has finally come through and is the best we've had. The food is flavorful and delicious, and the price is proportional to the portion size and quality. The service is also fantastic. So happy to have finally found our go-to Thai restaurant! 💜

We’ve come to many Thai restaurants around Portland and this one is The Best without question in our opinion. From fresh and authentic appetizers, to delicious fried noodles, flavorful curries, interesting stir fried specials, we and all the guests we brought in love almost everything. The host/waiter is so courteous and thoughtful and definitely is another reason for our frequent visits. Great restaurant for delicious Asian food. Highly recommended.

I love this place. We’ve ordered from here many times over the last 3 years, and most dishes have been winners. They do the classics well (pad Thai, pad see ew, green curry, Khao soi), but their standouts include pla pad cha, miang kham, pork belly with Chinese broccoli or basil, and pad kra pao. Don’t hesitate to try something new - you might find a new favorite.

I’m not a fan of their fried rice, tom yum, or gui chay, but that likely comes down to my personal preference rather than quality of the dish. Service is consistently great, and prices are reasonable.
