Never order the short ribs it was a box of bones with fat on them, literally just the meat around the bones, I've never seen that before, we also ordered katsu curry chicken and had to throw it away after 2 bites, it had a heavy black pepper taste, no curry flavor. The last dish we ordered was chicken Katsu which was good..The girl at the counter talks really fast and is hard to understand she was barely polite, or maybe that's her demeanor but it's not a welcoming feeling..

Ordered Chicken Katsu. It was delicious and the quantity was large. The amount was just right for me, but it might be better to get one more sauce.

After trying to swing by this place multiple times before and after movies next door, the employees putting up chairs and hour or so before their actual closing times has turned us away. This time we actually got in there before chairs are on the table and the place was again empty. The female taking orders took two calls before us though we were there first. Didn't give us any tips, insight or even look me in the eyes. During the ordering. She was very cold and unfriendly. We ordered dine in but got to go containers that were styrofoam and got sliced through as we try to eat our food draining sauce contents under the table making it. It's additionally challenging to take home any leftovers. Food was okay but 808 grinds service and food is much better. The poor service alone will mean my family will never come here again nor will I recommend it. And of course, as we're eating an hour before they close every available table. The employee is stacking chairs on it which is symbolism for stay out. This reminds me of why tips show never be given till after service has been rendered. I feel sorry for the owner. This message is for him or her.

Wife and I visited our daughter and family in Portland,Oregon and we were happy to see that they had a L&L Drive In nearby in Beaverton. We went early and were the first customer that morning. The Hawaiian combination laulau and kalua pig plate and chicken Katsu plate was excellent, large portions and reasonable prices. Thank you L&L counter girls and cook!Kid-friendliness: Very clean

I was dying from heat exhaustion a few days ago. The kind cashier gave me water and extra katsu with my order so I didn't die.

Great place to get some good old Hawaiian favorites! Welcoming decor and great staff makes your food tastes even better then it already is. When you craving the L&L this is the place :)

I am totally sad to report that L&L Hawaiian barbecue is now disgusting. It's premade and food is no longer fresh, the order is done in like three minutes as opposed to waiting for incredibly fresh food. The katsu breaded coating peels right off of the chicken, the barbecue chicken is dry, and no longer as moist and tasty. The macaroni salad is no longer creamy, it is dry and watered down. It is served in a plastic cup already Pre-scooped The Katsu sauce is almost like water as opposed to a thick sauce. They refuse to buy Sriracha sauce because it's too expensive, I let them know that that's part of the experience is to eat Hawaiian barbecue with Sriracha. They had Tabasco instead, I let them know that Tabasco actually makes their own Sriracha now as well as 10 other companies, at least... and even on a sadder note is that they charged me $22.50 with drink for a plate of this stuff. Thank goodness there are a few Hawaiian barbecue places close by and still doing it right. Goodbye L&L

Go for the food if "local" Hawaiian cuisine is your craving. There's also daily specials. Lau lau was wonderful (missing the fish for authenticity tho). Musubi had full wrap of nori...which is usually a shortcoming at other restaurants of this kind. Teri beef and chicken on low carb plate was good as well. Small place...best to take out

Definitely not as good as other L&L places I've been. Ordered my food for here and just handed me my order of musubi had to ask for a plate and got a flimsy paper plate. Teriyaki sauce was basically water and no Sriracha either.

Fast service. Reasonable prices. But the food just isn't good. Rice in my musubi was 100% free of any taste at all. The soju chicken was so bad I gave it to my dogs, and even they took one bite then gave me a look like "Are you sure this is food?" They ate it after a while though.Still. With most restaurants these days trying to profit themselves right out of business, this place still rates 4 stars for reasonable prices and quick service.
