Been going there for years, so when were in the area... It's a must.

It had been a long time since I was at Mexicali Express.
I had a type of breakfast burrito instead of my usual favorite, a pulled chicken with pineapple burrito.
It was good.
For a business in an older building, things are ok.
Negatives for me included:
Hard picnic like tables. I've lost a lot of weight recently so I could just barely fit into my seat. I used to have to sit on the end in a chair or turned sideways on the seat.
One can look outside through many windows.
Although kept clean, it had a dirty vibe. Perhaps not a fair thing to say.
What is inconvenient is going outside and to the restroom in the back, stepping over a fairly steep curb and through doors that don't have easy access at all. If you are disabled I wouldn't even try to get to the restroom.

Food was amazing and the video poker hit

Hands down one of the best salsa bars in the city. Super fresh. We have some great salsas that meet everybody's taste. My favorite is this white salsa that they have that is just amazing on everything, especially their potatoes. Especially their potatoes. so these guys have The best breakfast they use real bacon real potatoes. You don't get that flat pressed cardboard bacon like you see at McDonald's and other fast food restaurants and cheaper breakfast establishments like Elmer's or Denny's.. I love dining inn because a lot of their business is through their drive-thru so that keeps the inside. Always available for seating and pretty quiet. It's a great place to have a morning breakfast. And on top of that their pricing is absolutely amazing. Across the street is Tom's pancake House which is super expensive. Always packed, and if you ask me their breakfast is just okay... I've been going to this place for over 20 years and I normally go once or twice a week. Love it!

They put mayonnaise on my burrito. Aside from the fact that I'm allergic to egg and it made me extremely sick, they put mayonnaise on a burrito.

I've been coming here for years and I always order the same thing. 3 beef tacos with extra cheese, Mexicali fries, and a large Mountain dew. But I think yesterday was my last time.

When I pulled up to the window I saw the food prep lady cleaning with her gloves on and they were wet and she used some paper towels to wipe the prep bench and some other stuff off. So I asked the guy really quickly if she could put fresh gloves on and he started to argue with me about the cleanliness of her gloves and at this time she's already filling the beef into the shells so I asked for my card back and dipped.

This place has gone through some changes, some bad some good. Getting rid of the original fries and switching to what I assume are sysco fries was a bad move. Upgrading the drivethru menu was good. Adding gambling okay from a business perspective. Upgrading the soda machines was good. Like I've been going to this place a long time.... But not putting on 10 cents of gloves before preparing food for someone that asked for it is insane. Thanks for all the years.

OLD REVIEW before I had it at 5 star no comments, then 3 stars with this (and now 1 star adios): My only issue is when they don't use their fresh ingredients and instead replace them with pre-grated cheese covered in plant cellulose. And when the lettuce has been recycled for 5 days and has dead brown stuff in it. But this place is pretty good at least more than half the time hence 3 stars.

All of our food was delicious. Burrito, chili verde, nachos, tacos, all were great. Love the salsa bar. Only thing missing were fresh limes. Extremely fast service and very good value.

Don’t go here unless ur craving cheap white washed Mexican food.. promise you’d be more satisfied eating/cooking Mexican at home. Left extremely unsatisfied, but at least they know their worth on price ??

The owner and his staff are caring and wonderful. The food is always fresh & fast authentic Mexican. I enjoy the no frill street tacos and love the salsa bar! Mexi fries with extra seasoning & salsa ranch for the win!
