The food was good. We had to ask for a refill of water and chips. The restaurant wasn't packed. It was more on the empty side, and didn'texpectthe service we got. The building was very warm on a hot day. I don't think they had AC.

Delicious food, large sizes. The salsa and the chips are excellent. The atmosphere is pretty authentic Mexican. I will eat here frequently. We had the manager special, jalapeño steak and vegetable mixture with rice and refried beans. Very delicious.

Spicy salsa good food nice service

Pepita's looks like a relic of a simpler time before every restaurant was beige, so I was hoping it would fit the bill for a suburban Mexican dive with killer food. Unfortunately there is no killer food to be found here, just okay meat, okay beans, and rice in whatever package you choose. Nothing was bad, but I can't say anything was good either. If you want to be full, it'll do the trick, but if you want great food I'd suggest looking elsewhere, even the Birierria truck at the 777 gas station down the street is way better. On top of the just-okay food, it's pretty expensive! Staff are very friendly.

Pepitas has the best salsa, hands down! It's the chips and salsa that keeps me coming back, and of course I gotta get that carne asada burrito (covered in the salsa verde btw) to go with it. Good portions and yummy, filling dishes at a good price. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. If the bar is where you're headed, drinks are as strong as they are delicious. You honestly can't go wrong with this restaurant.
