Food is amazing! Out of gyro meat and baklava, but the shwarma was fantastic. If you get fries, get 2 of the garlic sauce instead of ketchup, it's like crack. The hummus is silky smooth and smoky.

Lamb gyro, SO good. I'm here to get recalls done on my Kia and i was hungry. They're right across the street. The bread for the gyros is amazing. Looks like a husband and wife that run it? So yummy.

I always wanted to try this place out. I'm here now and just finished the most delightful meal...I and my friend invited a person new to the area to join us.We are still talking and enjoying ourselves.I'll post some pictures showing the lovely decor. The food was wonderful! I enjoy Mediterranean food and this is near the top. There is a wide selection... from lamb, all types of shawarma, kabobs, ... I'll just include a photo of the menu. After I posted this I used the restroom. Perhaps I should have expected it to be spotless... I'll add photographic evidence.I forgot... the owner? and/or his son brought us tea and sugar...it wasn't Lipton and it was 'on the house '. It too was phenomenal.

If you love grill fish over fire like the old fashion way, this is the place/location. I order the Golden Pompano Fisher and it amazing, highly recommend it.

This is your classic surprisingly lovely hole in the wall. Seemingly run by a family unit, my husband and I stopped in here on a particularly hungry afternoon - the smells coming from outside drew us in.The food superseded expectation! Incredibly flavorful, tender, and fresh. Would highly recommend a visit! The only knock from 5 starts is the ambiance and wait time - we waited likely 40 minutes for our food, and were one of two tables. In fairness, the other table of 8 likely held up our order. The restaurant is small, and doesn't have a ton of ambience. A great take out option!

Somar has been a go-spot for me. The things that really set Somar apart from other restaurants are that they are locally owned and operated, consistent with the quality, friendly and have wonderful food.I would absolutely recommend Somar to family and friends!I've worked my way through the majority of the menu. I haven't found anything that I didn't like. That's a really good sign.My normal meal here is usually the Mixed Grill w/ hummus, sanbousek, side of sandwich bread and maybe an extra order of rice depending on if I'm gonna be finishing my leftovers for lunch during the coming week.I probably eat here about once a week or once every other week. I've never had an order that was wrong and I've never had any issues with quality.I mean it's rare to find somewhere that's got it together at this level.I will say that I've only ever done carryout orders so I can't speak for the in restaurant dining experience. With everything I've experienced so far I would say it's probably spectacular just like every thing else here.Thank you so much Somar for bringing something really special to downtown Beaverton!

Drinks:N/AFood:- The hummus plate, was good. It was slightly sour which threw me off a bit. The bread with the plate is fluffy and very satisfying to eat- The chicken mandi was also nice, the rice has a nice bite to it and the chicken was very well seasoned. There was a ton of flavor in this dish, and the serving size is huge. I had to take the rest home, it was like two meals in one. Though this dish was superb I did feel like I got a little tired of itAmbience:- The place has calming music, it was a little loud to my taste but wasn't loud enough to ruin my experience - The place is small and narrow with one bathroom in the back that's fairly clean- There are nice windows on the side of the restaurant that lets in a lot of natural light - One side of the restaurant is all tables and chairs while the other side with the windows is a bar seating style. I like this split dichotomy in seating, maybe it's just me but it felt nicely partitioned Overall:The food was good, the price is a little high since a lot of the dish is just rice and pickled vegetables (at least what I got) but the portion size makes up for it. It's in a nice area. I'd definitely consider coming back to try their other dishes.

Best falafel in Portland. Really liked my lamb Schwarma but my main squeeze ordered the falafel and it was awesome!

Fantastic Wow. What a great Mediterranean experience. As if I needed more reason to travel to the Mediterranean, I'm now in love with the food as well. The food was great. I'm not sure where to start or where to stop!Chicken was out of this world. Fish seasoned and grilled wonderfully. Amazing. So delicious. Best kept secret in Beaverton

Delicious halal food, shawarma, rice, salad all very fresh. I'm very happy to find such a clean restaurant, sincere, warm welcoming ambience, and I appreciate the complimentary tea service. Loved it!

My partner picked out this cute little family owned restaurant for a lunch date and it's in a cute lineup of restaurants and shops. Fun area to walk around in. FOOD: There's a lot of variety to the menu which I appreciated. I ordered the lamb and beef kebabs over rice, my partner ordered the chicken mandi and we shared the hummus plate. Overall, the food was good - the kebabs had good flavor and the chicken was pretty juicy. Hummus was okay but the pita bread that came with it was great. AMBIANCE: In a cute area but the ambiance could be better. Drinks are all in corner in a mini fridge and also stacked together which doesn't look too appealing. Love the logo and light fixtures in this place but table set up and cleanliness could use some help. SERVICE/PRICE: Very nice workers and price seems pretty fair for the portion size. I had mine for 2 meals and so did my partner. Food & Beverages: 3.5 Ambiance & Cleanliness: 3 Price Point: 4 Overall Experience: 3.5

First review: Overall food was good. Service was not the greatest .. mixed up our ordersUpdated review: very disappointing, rich looked perfectly great but was overcooked. Shawarma did not have any spices, did not taste like shawarma at all .. Based on today’s experience, I’d lower the stars rating from 2 to 1

This place has been a constant go to destination especially for during the 'after a long day/ busy work week' dinner. Ingredients always seem homemade and fresh and they take dietary restrictions in mind for non dairy. (Usually substitutes Tzatziki for Hummus) We have tried over a dozen items ranging from protein on rice, assortment of appetizers and desserts and each time it did not disappoint. Highly recommend you give this place a solid try!!! We will definitely be back.

I literally left all the food on the table. I am so bummed because I tried this place a couple years ago a few times and it was delicious. Alas the biz sold and now it’s no where close to the past experience. Infact the falafel and fries as a vegetarian, had a bad flavor to it. The oil is probably used for meat and vegetarians. A friend joined me and said No taste flavor whatsoever in their food either. I hate giving bad reviews but it needs a complete overhaul. This is my opinion and I understand others may be ok with the food.

I really enjoyed the food here! I had been wanting to try it for a while and it was worth the effort! Small interior, so might be better for take away, but we were the only ones dining in that day so we had the place to ourselves. Food was amazing and the pickled veggies were AMAZING. Eat the cauliflower. You will be so happy! The hummus was delicious, the meats so well prepared, and the pickled veggies...perfect! I really enjoyed the food and can't wait to go back and try other options so I can get more pickled veggies. Have I mentioned they were delicious...?
