Tehroon Restaurant

We drove 30 minutes with friends and 4 kids to celebrate Norooz because this place advertised fish and rice. When we arrived around 11:50 am, we were told it had to be ordered a day in advance and was already sold out.
There was absolutely no clear mention anywhere that this was pre-order only. Even more frustrating, multiple families who came after us were told the exact same thing.
What made the experience worse was the lack of accountability, instead of simply apologizing, it was communicated in a way that made it seem like it was our fault for not ordering ahead, when that information was never provided.
Also, they don’t have a restroom inside the restaurant, which is very inconvenient, especially when you’re there with kids.
If you’re going to advertise a special cultural meal for a holiday, at least be transparent about availability and ordering requirements. This was a very disappointing experience, especially on a day that’s important to many families.

Best Iranian food outside of Iran

Tehran Restaurant is a gem for anyone craving authentic Persian flavors. The kebabs are juicy, the saffron rice is fragrant, and classics like ghormeh sabzi and fesenjoon taste just like homemade dishes from Iran.

The staff are warm and welcoming, and the cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for both casual dinners and family gatherings. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and every bite feels freshly prepared.

Overall, Tehran Restaurant offers a delicious, authentic Persian dining experience that’s definitely worth a visit.

I had a great experience at Tehroon Restaurant recently while dining with friends. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. As a self-proclaimed kabob connoisseur who’s sampled Persian grills across the country, Tehroon Restaurant in Portland stands out as a true gem. Their Kashke Bademjoon is an absolute masterpiece—creamy, tangy eggplant dip with just the right balance of whey, walnuts, and caramelized onions that melts in your mouth. But the real star is the Soltani: tender filet mignon kabob paired with juicy koobideh, grilled to perfection with saffron rice that’s fluffy and aromatic. Service was prompt and friendly, ambiance cozy yet authentic. If you’re in PDX and crave top-tier Iranian cuisine, this is your spot. 5 stars!
