By far my new favorite place in bend. We had brunch and we're sad we couldn't order the Morrocan food so we came back for dinner. The Lamb Shank and duck were both amazing! Service was great and attentive

The food was really good food but small portions and extremely overpriced. The staff was friendly but undertrained. They had 3 big misses: Never brought us water, never checked on us, and overcharged us for tiny pieces of bread and didn’t offer to do anything about it. However the food was great.

I went there with a friend last Saturday night for dinner. I have had brunch at Blissful Spoon in the past and was interested in what the Moroccan inspired menu in the night version of the restaurant called Papillon was all about. In short, it was awesome.
I made a reservation earlier in the day, as most other spots that I wanted to eat at were completely booked. Reservations were for 6:30pm and the place was busy but not full, and the noise level was just fine. There are plenty of selections to choose from, include a special tasting menu that was off-script, meaning it was Japanese inspired. It looked fantastic, but I came for the Moroccan flavors, so I stayed on that path. We ordered and shared three items: the Fattoush (delicious Mediterranean salad), a spinach Bastilla ( a filled, baked pastry that was light and wonderfully spiced), followed by a Lemon Chicken La'Acha (a chicken and couscous with saffron delight). We finished with a Sticky Date Cake that was fantastic.
I loved the meal and the staff and service was sweet and very helpful in assisting us through the menu. Highly recommend Papillon. Going back soon.

One of the best meals of our 8 night trip to Oregon! We have not had Moroccan food in years. The chef and his team served a wonderful dinner. Highly recommend the roasted eggplant mezze (appetizer-spread), chicken and duck bastillas, and lemon chicken tagine (like a crockpot). Service was just right. What a find!

Horrible service, good food for 3 of us at 1 PM on a Saturday. We never received 2 of the 3 drinks we ordered twice from our waitress. Our waitress didn't return to the table to check in, so we went up to the counter to inquire about the drinks after we'd eaten most of our food & the staff acted very surprised that we hadn't received our drinks. We told the staff not to make the drinks since we were almost finished eating. There were as many staff as patrons in the restaurant, so getting orders fulfilled shouldn't have been an issue. We paid at the counter instead of waiting for the waitress to bring the bill.
We live just a few blocks away, so I was hoping to add a nearby restaurant to our options, but this experience negates that. We were one of 4 tables during the off-season. This review is intended to help the owner/manager improve their business if they are interested. We've lived in Bend for over 20 years & I'm from another tourist town, so I understand that local clientele can have higher expectations than visitors who may never return.
This review is for Blissful Spoon.

So happy the Bekkaris opened a Moroccan restaurant in Bend. It's been sorely needed. The food is excellent as well as the service. Thanks Kamal and Miki!

My family and I had dinner at Papillon last night, and we all left feeling hungry and disappointed. I will start out by saying the flavors were unique and tasty, but for the price, and especially for plates intended to share, the portions were laughably small. Notably, the Spicy Prawns were diminutive shrimp and a single piece of bread, and the Focaccia was two petite slices of toast. The most disappointing dish was the Duck A L'Orange Tajine. Our family was traveling in Morocco two years ago, and we took a Tajine cooking class, so we were looking forward to the traditional cooking vessel and couscous served along with the duck. However, the entree was served as simply duck breast with a few mushrooms and sauce. What a let down.
