We moved to Central Oregon from Portland, OR and have favorite Thai, Vietnamese and unique Chinese restaurants we favored. This is the best we've had this side of the Cascade Range. Some heat, if you like it. Flavorful. The juice from the dishes are good enough to slurp up and not leave a drop.

Delicious flavors and high quality ingredients! I ordered Kao Mon Gai (chicken+rice), Nom Jin (red curry noodle bowl), and the handmade potstickers for delivery. Would recommend all three dishes! They packaged everything really well, so it was still great at home. I’m Asian and have traveled a lot on SE Asia- highly recommend! Will definitely be ordering again!

My family loves this restaurant! Admittedly, I have not been but my family loves it here and loves the food. I did buy a gift card for my aunt and the customer service was so great! Super easy over the phone, secure, and the staff member was so nice and helpful. Shout out to Shawn, who even text me my receipt. Thank you!

Everything we ordered was average at best. Nobody was here on a weekend. That tells you everything you need to know. The owner is really nice, unfortunately he's going to go bankrupt.
Eh food was ok and was way way too small for the price and took 30 mins to get our food and there were only 2 other tables of people. Go to a full sit-down Asian restaurant for this price for way more food and cheaper prices! * I edited this review to be as clear and honest for other people thinking of visiting here. Loved the food at Chao Lay. We traveled to Crater Lake and stopped by Bend for food. The food was so tasty and authentic. The lady owner was so sweet and even made us a custom dish. Highly recommend the crispy pork belly (the sauce was so good) and the kao man kai, which was also really good with ginger sauce and soup.
Please stop by if you are local or visiting Bend. They also have a great selection of beverages. Service was excellent as well!

We ordered papaya salad and chicken & pork dishes, the salad was good enough, lack of special ingredients. The pork belly needed to be cooked more for texture, and chicken was just okay. Overall was okay:-)

We were a party of 11 people with young kids that drove specifically from Sunriver to Bend just to try out Chao Lay on Sunday 6/23/2024. The restaurant’s website, Goggle, and Yelp indicated they are open DAILY from 11AM-8PM, however they were closed today. Yes, we went to another restaurant in the vicinity but we would have preferred to be saved from taking an unnecessary trip since Sunriver has plenty of food options.
